There’s been a huge misunderstanding about Fallout 3 and the ability to go back and play unfinished quests after the DLC has been applied to your 360 or PC. Apparently, gaming blog Next Gen News credited MTV Multiplayer with the info, but made it sound like there’s actually a patch coming to the 360 or PC. There is no patch at all, it’s just a part of the DLC functionality. How can you have DLC and not access any of the original game? That would be stupid right? So now that we know there’s no patch, maybe we can test this True Gamer power I’ve been talking about and get one made for the PS3.
I contacted Bethesda VP, Pete Hines to get the skinny and to persuade him to patch the PS3 version. Here’s my email and his quote:
Hello Pete! I’m aware of the patch that’s being released for the 360 and PC versions of Fallout 3. This patch allows you to go back and complete unfinished missions after beating the game. I realize that if there is going to be some sort of DLC for the PS3 that you’d want to keep it under wraps. It is important however, to inform the masses if you plan on patching the game for the Playstation 3. Playstation 3 owners are very disappointed that they have no way of going back to finish all of those side missions.
Could you please provide a glimmer of hope that there will be a patch for the Playstation 3 version of Fallout 3? Playstation fans that supported Bethesda by purchasing this game deserve to know.
Thank you for your continued support!
Hope to hear from you soon Pete!

Hi Torrence.
That is incorrect. There is no patch or update, nor will there be, that removes the ending of the game. Not on Xbox 360, PS3, nor PC.
One of the DLCs we are doing for 360 and PC will include this functionality.
It is important to note that it is available only as part of that DLC. You can’t get it any other way and it is not a change we are planning to make to the game as it was released to any platform.Hope that helps clear up some misconceptions.
Pete
I’ve also asked Pete if there’s an email or some way for fans to contact Bethesda to persuade them to patch the Playstation 3 version of the game so we don’t have to remember to save it right before beating it. If you don’t believe in the power of gamers, here’s your chance to put it to work. I need all gamers, even single console 360 gamers, to help get Playstation gamers a patch. I’ll keep you up to date!

sign me up, what do i need to do to help the ps3 version???
i play the pc version BTW.
Sign Me up I have the PS3 version, and I too want to get the most out of my purchase. I want to experience Fallout 3 to its fullest.
i hated fallout. i played it for 3 hours and mailed it back to gamefly ewwy
Well, you can sign me up as well. I was going to purchase Fallout 3 next week but, since hearing about this issue, I have decided against purchasing it until Bethesda fixes this issue.
I have the PS3 version and have been enjoying the game. But sign me up if I can make it better
For a few good reasons, I’m not surprised by his response, T. Just look at what they did for Oblivion. It’s as if they half-ass the game and the work put into it. The earlier Elder Scroll games were pretty cool with the story lines, world lay out, and characters. It’s as if something happened after Morrowind that went down hill in the development of Oblivion and future projects.
I do want to want to buy Fall Out 3 after watching a friend play it, but this is just bull shit.
Man thanks for trying to get through to these people Torrence. I have been all over the True Gamer Forums saying how much I loved Fallout 3. I just wish Bethesda would come out and say that MS paid them for exclusive content so we dont have to keep asking why PS3 isn’t getting DLC. We bought the game at the same price as the 360 owners but we don’t get anything else and they do?? That’s not cool in my opinion. At least GTA 4 said before the game even came out that MS paid for extra content. Bethesda is
^ just not being fair to PS3 owners.
However I can help, count me in.
I agree, I am a fan of bethesda I have fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls Oblivoion Collecters addition. And I really hope that this (expantion pack) for fallout 3 comes because it sounds awesome!
Its sad that we need to patition for a game company to basically buy something from them. I don’t see the need to not put out these expation packs for an exclusive console be it either coming to the 360 or the PS3. I do understand that there is back door deals being made by both companys to get these things exclusive but in the long run it is only hurting gamers not helping and that is a sad reality.
LMAO, you guys need to see this:

@jmd749
Checked out that link. This isn’t “confirmed” or anything, but it’s also “suspected” that MS set it up by sending spare broken 360’s over there, and staged the burning for negative press throughout the month of February. Some say it’s all a part of the Great February Flood of 2009.
Oh yeah, btw. Darkpower seems to be taking a page out of Torrence’s book, and has contacted Bethesda regarding the PS3-shafting. I hope to see more people with a voice sticking it to the media and developers.
@ static
wow, i don’t see why MS would want to do that?!
