Are you people kidding? HipHopGamer’s analogy is not far from the mark, if not completely accurate. The numbers do not lie. Sony is not so far behind as it seems, and is poised to do some real damage in the industry in the next few years. The production cost for the PS3 has gone down, and they are selling better than the 360 did at the same time in its life-cycle. Add to the mix the fact that developers are finally maximizing their games for the unique hardware of the PS# console translates to a great success to me.
The funny thing is all the people that seem to have a stake in shooting down SONY every chance that they get. All the haters are going to be in for a big surprise if that is the case. Any true gamer should be rooting for Sony to succeed instead of trash talking. Both my 360 and my PS3 benefit from competition.

Dude, Im so dissapointed with Red Faction 3. They changed it from first person to third and it just didn’t feel the way it used to. I mean, its an alright game from what I played, but there are too many other games to play to really care about this now. Damnit, Red Faction and Timesplitters are the 2 main shooters that made me forget about Golden Eye.

Volition reckons it needed extra help to get the PS3 version of Red Faction: Guerilla up to muster with the 360 version.

Actually, from a technical point,, the ps3 would have been the better system to work on the game since all the buildings in the game have heavy physics architect. The ps3 has the same amount of memory, but the ps3 also has the cell which can produce trillions of mathematical equations. Perfect for a game like this because there are so many calculations going on at the same time with buildings falling apart like they would in real life along with all the blood spit and ass flying all over the place
Also, the people who made this game said they were having problems making the ps3 version because of the complicated architecture behind the machine. So pretty much what they said was that they weren’t talented enough to make the game themselves so they had to get some Sony engineers to help them. Trust me when I say that the game was better off being a ps3 exclusive. Oh, and I can almost bet that the single player in the game will be better on the ps3 then the 360 because of the facts that I stated above. Online will be a different story because xbox live will decrease the amount of work they have to put into it. I can almost grantee that this game is gonna suck on the ps3. The ps3 will be lucky to even have voice chat, but I can say that this game is nothing to really be talking about. There are way better games to play on both consoles. Storm Rise on the 360 and Killzone 2 on the ps3 will keep me accoupied for a long time.

the ps3 can crunch more numbers than the 360 but real world results might be a different story also it doesnt matter that the ps3 has the cell because if the ps3 had 45 cells it wouldnt help if the ram is full. In theroy u could use the hdd to help the ram but the speed result wouldnt be that great. Cpus are not the problem here and neither are the gpus its the RAM

They maxed out the RAM. The 360 has 512mb of ram and so does the PS3. So plan on them maxing out the PS3’s ram too. Oh wait, you must think maxed out means used up all the power of the 360 am I right?

dude everything MS has done in computers all the ” dark evil shit” has been done by apple ,sony ,Acer ,hp and dell.Its just that since MS has the biggest user base its products will have more problems,More driver compatibility problems and more virus/hacker problems .if 500 million people all with different rigs used straight up linux there would be the same problems as there is with windows.

HHG’s 360 is probably collecting dust too, much like Torrence’s PS3. Regardless, everyone has a preference to something, whatever the reason may be. Just because someone does not give their consoles equal time mean does not mean that they are a fanboy. Just because Torrence loves his 360 does not mean that he does not respect the PS3. Same goes for HHG of course. A fanboy is a person that would make illogical statements about the competing product and would not allow their product to lose an argument even though their claims are wrong.

Good show like always, some comments are a bit off like the Sony statement because I remember playing my next-gen console back in 2005 and KZ2 has mind boggling graphics but that doesn’t mean that Sony are right on what they said.
And I have White knight chronicles, it is fantastic, if you want to know about it, look on gamefaqs discussion boards, alot of people like me got the japanese version.

As for the 4 360s = 2 PS3s it is true for “now”, in the past they were losing money and I mean ALOT of money and it wasn’t the same also, it was $249 for the 360 and $400 for the PS3.
For now, I think Sony needs to make a big price cut for the PS3 to be in competition and catch up faster, I mean a $249 ps3 is the only solution to grab both markets and make a huge install base of it, Im talking about grabbing the Blu-Ray market and gaming market with this price tag and profit from bigger software sales which grant them profit at a faster rate and time even if they lose money for the short run, however, in the long run they would profit faster and make a bigger impact in both markets.
Sony doesn’t have to do anything to sell consoles. It sells well enough to stay in the game. The ps3 could never catch up to the 360 and they aren’t gonna try. They just want to make some money back. Its a business guys,, what would you do if you were 3 billion in the hole? All Sony has to do is keep making these great games and just make sure they fix their networking capabilities on the next playstation console. Hopefully they will have an xbox live type of service, and fix the controller. I have man hands and the 360’s controller feels much better.
All I have to say is this. Maxed out or not on any system means “SHIT”..! Maxed out or not so the freak what. As long as great games keep coming out I will be happy. Don’t we see the Wii selling millions and millions on old last gen technolgy. I dont understand what you said Jorgie, but I think you meant that Fun is what is important in a game. Its not about graphics and its not about a system being pushed to its limits. Some of my favorite games are the most ugly games ever made. Just look at my screen name. Dragon Warrior 4 is my favorite game of all time. Which is funny because today I got Last Remnant from gamefly and I cant believe how Squeenix totally forgot about the things I mentioned above.
It seems that they only cared about graphics and how many characters they can put on the screen. That really bit them in the ass btw. The game is pretty much unplayable, framerate issues, meaningless combat, and terrible story. Just goes to prove that graphics aren’t everything. Dragon Warrior might be ugly, but at least it is playable.

I know I seemed angry via my typed post..lol But I was really expressing my dislike of people thinking a game is good only if it looks good and plays like shit..lol I loved Phantasy Star for the Sega Master System and will always love it above all current gen jrpgs. I also agree with you on Last Remnant I did go thru more than half of the story and feel the same way you do. I think Square is loosing it’s footing and just forgetting about the roots that made Square a name to be known if your an RPGer..lol I myself love beutiful graphics like Lost Oddessey ( one of my favorite rpg games of this generation) even with it’s long load screens and battles. Dragon Warrior series was a great game as well back in the day and now it’s just something totally different. Let’s hope for me and you that FF 13 is not all graphics and has gameplay and story to back up the graphics.

I hope it does to me what FFX did to me. I really doubt it though. It seems that people like HHG and fanboys are freaking out about FF13 simply because it looks amazing. I dont care how good a game looks. It could look like a ps2 game as long as it makes me feel like a real FF.
Also, you are right about Dragon Warrior(known as Dragon Quest to you noobs). It has gone downhill since part 7, Im sure alot of you disagree considering that Level 5 made part 8. It really just didn’t feel like Dragon Warrior. Ragnar, Alena, Brey, Taloon, and Cristo even made an appearance, but even they just didn’t feel like they were true to their previous entities. I say worry about gameplay and story first, and then graphics 2nd.
oh and I forgot two other things to say about the show.
About the 360 being maxed, it is a big claim and I do think that the developers maxed out their engine and not the 360 itself because we already know that alot of stunning looking games coming out this year for the 360 like Resident Evil 5 and Final Fantasy XIII and they look beyond anything else the 360 have ever done graphic wise.
As for the sales of the PS3, I just want to point out something for the masses, Sony lost all of their profits from the PS1 and PS2 from the last two generations in a matter of two years because of the PS3 losses, this news are mind blwoing to know how they fucked up with the PS3 because of their arrogant behaviors, investing in Blu-Ray for the price of their brand ( the playstation ), it was and is the biggest arrogant mistake ever happened and who payed the price? the fans, They used their Playstation customers as pawns in a format war and charged us $500-$600 at launch.
Just to think about it, it is a mind shocking thing to know all of the PS2 and PS1 profits are gone in a matter of two years just because they wanted their damn own format to win.
And if you don’t believe me, there are reports about it.
They lost profit mostly because of the production of the Cell. 3 billion to be exact. They knew they were getting knee deep into shit before they even released the ps3. They decided to make bluray so that they could be a market leader not just in gaming, but also in storage media. Remember, they made the ps3 as a media hub first, a gaming console second. They had big ambitions, and at first it looked like they were bout to get knocked out. But the thing is that Sony is looking further down the road then your feeble mind can even imagine.
They are looking at all different angles, and are even making a profit off of the machine. I don’t know why any of this actually matters to you, but maybe you should just worry about what games you are playing and whom you are playing with then Sony’s financial problems. Of course that is if you aren’t a Sony share holder, but I highly doubt that.
Ofcourse I care about their financial problems even though I don’t have shares, if the PS3 doesn’t do well there is a big chance you wouldn’t see a PS4, look at the support Sony is getting, there is almost no support from third parties to make exclusives for the console, all of what defines the playstation are gone, Square enix support ( Final Fantasy, Star Ocean, new IP..etc) , Namco ( Tekken, Ace combat, Tales series..etc), Capcom( Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Devil may cry…etc) , even their flagship title is not here yet which is Gran Turismo, look how much support the 360 and the Wii got from third parties becuase they deliver the goods for developers.
Expensive console means less sales, less sales means less install base and less install base means less or no support from third parties, alot of multiplats were being cancelled for the PS3 becuase some developers don’t profit for developing for PS3 games.
Look at Free Radical and Factor 5, they closed their doors and we might not see TimeSplitters 4 forever just because they put their game in the wrong console.
I care because there was an awesome company called Sega and we all know what happened with them because of lack of sales and third parties support.
Okay, First off the ps3 is not selling bad. Its actually selling better then the 360 did when it was as old as the ps3. Secondly, Sony has an amazing line up this year. It seems like you are worried for nothing because you would have to be retarded to not have a ps3 this year if you were a true gamer. Actually, anyone who doesn’t own one now isn’t a true gamer. I agree with DW on this. Craptor 5 released lack luster titles due to the devs being unoriginal with the creativity they had going on. LAIR would’ve been a HUGE success if they had changed the game play and tweaked the story mode a bit. The graphics were pretty solid and so were the dragon designs. Knowing a peep from that company, I’m surprised he was even on the project. He should have known better >=(
