Yo im so pissed i missed the show you should have called me back torrence its on like donkey kong now. lol
Yo i had to tell you that dude at games stop wasn’t full of shit as far as the circles on your disk. If you move it while a disk is in there or if you have it where speakers might cause the system to constantly vibrate or shake (like i had mine between my two speakers and it fucked my brand new splinter cell game and gears of war disk. luckely they did not know about it yet at game stop and it was only an hour after i left the store i got an exchange and got online and started inquiring about the situation and its true sitting it upright the disk is not as stable as if it was horizontal thus moving or any shaking can cause the disk to move and the lenses scratches a circle around the disk. This is the case with some wii’s as well.

The most important thing out of all of this which nobody including every single US media source takes into account is the price.
Use logic.
Look where PS3 is at right now at 399, then take into account how long it has taken for it to get there.
Look at Xbox360 at 199, and look at how far it has taken it to get there.
Now look at the current graph in the first Link, which doesnt even take into account the PAL region which has the biggest PS3 suppport.
Tell me what your logic tells you, because mine tells me that a product called PS3, despite double price point and despite a year later into the market is beating the another product called Xbox360.
Unless you see something else, which I cant imagine.
200% more expensive and 33% less time on the market, and only 25% from reaching its competitor in the last region called United States of America.

Torrence, it’s funny that you mention making a game with only life because I’m currently writing and drawing up a storyboard for a game just like that called, One Life to Live (that’s a working title by the way). I’m hoping to be finish with it by the end of December-Jan. Early feedback has been pretty good. I think. You probably won’t get this but just letting you know that other people are thinking the same thing.
Hiphopgamer proved to me today that he’s a real gamer and the other guys on the warzone are fanboys. Torrence said he hates fanboys but he’s a Microsoft fanboy. He tried to downplay everything hiphop was trying to say about Killzone 2. I remember the last show him complaining about the respawns but now it seems like he didn’t even play the beta. Good job Torrence, it’s time you stop calling other fanboys and start owning up to your fanboyism for Microsoft.

@samsamurai – That chart doesn’t show me that PS3 is outselling 360. It’s showing me that 360 just extended it’s lead. A year is a year. I doesn’t matter if PS3 outsells 360 in the beginning of the year if YTD sales winner is 360. PS3 has outsold 360 by tiny numbers all year and then the 360 destroys it during the holidays where it matters most.

Another thing I find it funny how they claim Blu Ray doesn’t allow Sony to have bigger and better games but the added storage space allows higher textures and better quality all around because you have more storage space per disc. I guess Microsoft can counter with extra disc which means an inconvience to the customer. We all know compressing data eventually leads to poor quality, if Microsoft continues on this path they will kill the new XBOX before it even starts. My last point, I heard Torrence claiming Microsoft might use HD-DVD in the next Xbox. Is this guy for real? Why in the hell would they use a format that lost the format war? what is your guys’ problem with nintendo? its pretty rediculous to hear you guys talk about how its ’scary’ that nintendo can sell 2 million consoles that easily. you have to remember, nintendo is the one that started the whole gaming revolution. if you even look at the controllers for 360 and ps3, every feature on those controllers started somewhere from a nintendo controller. nintendo is constantly changing the industry for the better.

and now you guys are talking about what makes a system seller. well in my opinion the smartest thing a company could do is stand on its own two feet. sony and microsoft dont do that. the wii is initially appealing because of the motion sensing, and then you look at games like super smash bros brawl, metroid prime 3, and the legend of zelda, and its kind of a no brainer to buy the system. especially at 250 dollars. maybe thats why the wii sells so well. it has something for everybody. it turns everybody into a gamer. i dont see what your guys’ big problem with that is.

1.
if sony is happy with their sells, that fine for me if they keep given me good quality games, i don’t give $hit if the ps3 is in the first second or third place.
2. you need to stop making those shows about sells console war and $hit, those shows and articles puts flame to the fire.

Torrence Davis is definitely the biggest Xbot i have ever heard. First of all i hope people do understand that the worldwide demand for Playstation consoles is much higher than for the Xbox. This is the reason why the PS2 is still selling like hot cakes.
Now, what does this mean, the main factor why the Ps3 is not selling like the 360 is the price. In Europe for example, the Ps3 is selling a lot more than the 360.
Wait for a price drop and you will see the PS3 surpass the 360 in sales.

To jump on the 360 sales for a second, I believe and I’m sure I could be right on this but who actually believe those new unit sales is from new customers? I don’t, I believe over 50% is from old customer’s which means their install base isn’t that far off from the PS3. Yes it doesn’t matter when it comes down to profit and that’s the main reason I can’t stand Microsoft. 1st they release a crappy system that has a failure rate at 30%, next they play devils advocate and extends the warranty. They claim to lose billions with this major move that should have sent them to court for not recalling the damn thing. 3 YEARS later they release the Jasper which they claim is the better of all the systems. Seems like to me Microsoft knew this all along and they know alot of Xbox fans would go out and purchase a new Xbox at $199. I did the same thing with the PS2, when they dropped the price to $99 dollars I had to have the slim at that price. When it comes to consoles wars, it’s not how many units that sale. It’s how many new units that sale to new users that increase the install base. I’m sure there’s plenty of guys here reading that is has more than 1 xbox because they wanted the cooler running system with an HDMI port.

Torrence, I agree with you about Nintendo, they are killing them in about two years. MS’s Vista is doing bad because Apple is catching up in the computers, so MS is marking the hell out the 360, plus they made the deal with Viacom for 5 years, now that smart business. Sony needs to market the hell out of the PS3 right now. They heavy hitters like Killzone 2 and God Of War 3 are they top sellers coming up next year. How can someone claim that BluRay is not needed for gaming ? BluRay is needed, like DVD was needed some years ago. BluRay delivers you the oppurtunity to cut costs and this means a great benefit and will lead to better visuals. Carmack might be quoted here.
And btw. dont forget that Naughty Dog did mention a lot of times that you can put more high res textures on a BluRay disc than on a DVD, so in the end, this will lead to better visuals.
BluRay will be the standard in some years, like the DVD did and to remember you : The Ps2 did extremely bad in the beginning. There were no games and the total system sales were pretty bad, until FF and Gran Turismo arrived. Did you actually know that the PS3 is selling faster than the Ps2 did in the same time period ? And have you not noticed that the PS2 is still selling like hot cakes…this means the customers are intersted in the Playstation brand, which is a lot more valuable than the defective miniPc 360. I am also a PC Gamer, which does give me the right, not to own such a miniPc called the 360, i have no interest in a console, which is coming from some company, which has built Windows, only to show you my confidence towards Microsoft.
I can play most of the 360 games with FAR FAR better visuals on my high end PC, so no need for such a console.

Blu-Ray isn’t needed for gaming at this point. I’ve already proved it. For every Blu-Ray that you can put high quality textures on, you can do the same with DVD, even if it means adding a second disc. We won’t need Blu-Ray until the next generation. Right now several PS3 games could have shipped on DVD. Carmack also stated that the problem could be fixed by adding a 3rd DVD. BTW, If BR is needed this gen, why doesn’t the 360 have a BR player? What about the 2million in one month selling Wii? Does it need a BR drive too? Seems like you are a shallow rgz with no logic in your thinking.

The PS3 will outsell the 360 in the end. The worldwide interest is higher for Playstation products.
Take for example Japan and Europe.
The 360 is non existent in Japan and now imagine what will happen, when FF and WKC will be released on the PS3 in Japan. These games are exclusives for the PS3 there.
And now Europe, the PS3 has outsold the 360 now even at this high price. Imagine what will happen after the price cut.
You are only considering the US, sure, they did always to think different, but dont forget that the PS3 outsold the 360 for some months at this high price, even in US and now imagine a price cut.
I think you are forgetting what kind of value the Playstation Brand has towards the customers.
120 mio PS2 user…most of them are waiting for a price cut to buy a PS3.
The PS3 is a better package in the end than the 360. It is built future proof and does deliver you high class exclusives and a BluRay player.
Like i said, mark my words…the PS3 will sell more units in the end. Today the 360 has only sold 7 mio copies more worldwide, now imagine what will happen with games like FF and Gran Turismo, take only Europe and Japan. 7 mio are nothing. Justify my purchase ? Is here the wrong term, money is no problem for me. I have a pretty high end PC, a Wii, a PS3 and a DS. I dont need a 360, because it has nothing to offer. I can play most of the 360 exclusives on my PC with far better visuals.
I dont worry…why should i worry? Gaming is my hobby and not consoles or devices, but i have just no need for a 360, might change my opinion with Star Ocean 4 maybe.
I am only saying that Torrence is wrong, because in the end the PS3 will lead in total sales and he can mark my words, simply because the Playstation Brand is more popular than the 360 worldwide.

Marked. You still haven’t proved that I’m a fanboy. Please post the date when PS3 will pass 360 in worldwide sales so I’ll know when to come back to this thread.
Hi there, I’m new up here, just want to let you know my opinion on that matter. I do have both consoles and I think Sony can win MS with that console, just need to do some adjustments, and I think it’s on that way right now.
The integration with the web, at the moment users from PS3 can see the players who are online, still they need to do much work, place the trophy’s available, messages, tags things like that.
Other thing that PS3 network needs is stability, It doesn’t have at the moment, and it’s not going to have that on the near future i guess, with home on the way, large amount of users, interconnection be twin servers and all… really cant se a good stable network.
The 3rd and final thing that is missing on PS3 is the independent communication, would like to see ppl playing a single player game and chatting with other ppl.
Home i think is a great step, it’s funny for the casual user, and can have many many nice things for gamers, It’s a win win thing for PS3.
Afterall I think PS3 is a better console, the hardware and all, X-box did have 2 great and serious problems, dose wore piracy and RRD. At this moment we have developers worried about sell’s, I don’t know how are things in on the US, but here in Portugal 8 out of 10 are changed.
