FF Versus XIII on 360? Don’t think so. If Versus XIII was going to come out on the 360 I think SquareEnix would have announced it back at E3, at their own event in Japan during August, or at the Tokyo Game Show.
Kingdom Hearts could come to the 360, but considering that Tetsuya Nomura is the head Designer of Kingdom Hearts and is the Director of FF Versus XIII, I’m pretty sure that FF Versus XIII will stay a PS3 exclusive and Kingdom Hearts 3 has a good chance of being a PS3 exclusive, but I think it has a very “slight” chance of coming to the 360.
Tetsuya Nomura is well known for being a Playstation fan and if he is the head of those games, I’m sure he has a lot of influence on what console they’ll land on. Tetsuya Nomura has already said that Versus XIII will be a PS3 exclusive, so I highly doubt it’s coming to the 360. If Nomura is keeping Versus XIII PS3 exclusive, I’m thinking the same thing will be in store for a future Kingdom Hearts.

Nomura has to do with both ff vs 13 and kingdom hearts,he is the reason ff vs 13 is exclsuive.he is a playstation fan so i know for sure those will stay exclusive. And like aclay said,they would have announced it the same day as ff 13 went multi if it was going to go.

Hey, I love your show. I always put my boys up on it. But, I got get on you guys for something. You guys talk about Sony’s marketing a lot on the show as do many game sites and podcasts, which you should because as we all know their marketing isn’t hot.
But, what I can never understand is how or why no one talks about the 5 year, $500 million marketing deal Microsoft made w/ Viacom last December. The terms of the deal was crazy! Just Google search it. It’s not hard to find but we all know that Viacom is a media conglomerate. The amount of media outlets they own and the level of influence these media outlets have over American pop culture is ridiculous.
Not including this in a discussion about console marketing seems to be missing a big chunk of the game, no?

I want to comment on the Sony and ps3 situation – sales , maketing , etc.
First of all , they are marketing games and they are marketing their system with ads – LBP , Resistance 2 , Motorstorm 2 , NBA , Mirror’s Edge , WWE , Prince of Persia , wishlist campaign , games on buildings ads , playstation network ads , whatever……… but the whole thing is that they are struggling finacially so they can’t market the hell out of right now.But more importantly , they probably realise that they will still likely get killed by the 360 arcade sku and $199 ads NO MATTER HOW MUCH MORE THEY SPEND on marketing. If they throw away too much money now on marketing and still get killed by the system that is twice as less , then they won’t be able to drop price anytime soon.
They are stuck , it has nothing to do with arrogance or cockiness. That came much earlier when Kutaragi designed a system that cost $800 to manufacture and the PR nuts had to say whatever they had to say to survive.This is just the ongoing problem which is money – the ycan’t drop price or advertise like money grows on trees. They just aren’t in a postion to do so.
Hopefully they can get a nice pricedrop early next year to go along with the Killzone 2/RE5 hype train.All they can do now is be wise with their marketing dollars and hope their division does well this holiday with the combination of the ps3/ps2/psp hardware numbers and game sales and accessories for all 3 so they can cut price.

There’s no way Sony is going to wait until 2014 to bring out another console. Sure it will be supported that long but the ps4 will be out around by 2011 if everything goes as planned. They are trying hasten the development so it can be out at around the same time as the next xbox or even earlier so the same thing doesn’t happen next-gen as it happened this gen.

i dont own a xbox i have a ps3 but i am a fan tho but i know that microsoft is busting ass and they seem to be doing everything right so like seriously what is there to bash on…they have a cheaper console on the same level if not beyond the more expensive ps3…i bought into the ps3 hype back when it was 600 dollars i must say i am every happen with it but i considered picking up a 360 numerous of times they are doing their thing…i do agree ppl go hard on sony but they were cocky as fuck

yo torrence, really good show, i almost agreed with u on everything u said, and that a fucking phenomenon.
i do gotta say one thing tho, like hiphop said on his show, when u said the need for blueray isn’t wide spread enough and it will be in the future… i agree, but let me ask u a question, obviously every new format will take some time to get mainstream. with that said i’d be afraid the few games that do use the blueray to their benifit we might have missed out on, games like metal gear, killzone 2, and uncharted… if ps3 had a dvd player those developers might have not been enclined to make such great games becasue their fanbase would be split…i’m definately greatful for those few games that do use blueray arn’t you??
@gameraxis – Not greatful at all. Blu-Ray has allowed devs to make games without writing compression algorithms. If MGS4 was made on DVD it would probably be 4-5 discs. That doesn’t bother me. It never has. I understand that Sony wanted to get Blu-Ray out there but it just wasn’t needed for the PS3. A DVD drive would have been faster and the need for installs would be gone. Plus it would make the system cheaper and more widely attainable by the masses. That extra $125 bucks you are paying for on your PS3 is for Blu-Ray. We didn’t need all the memory card slots and built-in wifi. Just a PS3, DVD drive, 20gb HD and some USB ports. All the games would still be the same. MGS4 would have had disc swapping at every act instead of installs. No biggie right? Because of the decision to add Blu-Ray and poor marketing, Sony is in 3rd. That’s my whole ‘we don’t need Blu-Ray’ argument. Next generation, give us a 16x Blu-Ray drive in both the Xbox and PS4.
@bucnasty and others who call me a fanboy – Do you even know what a fanboy is? How in the hell am I hating on the PS3? Please explain this to me. Do you want us to talk RROD every week because that’s the only thing MS did wrong. I think that would be boring. I could complain about Live fees but honestly, I have nothing to complain about. What else is there that’s negative to discuss about the 360? The Wii has a piss poor library and Sony isn’t marketing their products. We talked a great deal about how awesome KZ2 is and we’ve done so for like 4 episodes.

I know torrence isn’t a fanboy but i think they mean that the show is usually heavily focused on ps3 and it’s usually talking bad about it. Some things i disagree on,the marketing isn’t as bad as you think. Heck ps3 is not doing as bad as people think. people should know by history that sony always starts slow,i bet people will be shocked at how things turn out this gen for sony. One thing i do wonder[which i would like you guys to discuss in a future podcast] is if the marketing is not THAT good because of sony having to focus on 3 platforms. Hiphopgamer did touch a bit on this on one of the past shows and i think it would be a good discussion. Personally overall i think they just have to get that price down more,they alway have the games down packed for next year the future.

can they make an open world game that u can backtrack in multiple discs?? i mean a game like far cry or something just say it was20 gigs instead of whatever it is, are devs able to split that up or no??
either way it seems the dvd was such an improvement over cd in Every way that’s why it worked, with blueray u have the slower speed and limited streaming capabilities but who knows, it might blow up. CD was always knocked because of the loading screens that were non existent on the previous cartridges… a part of me always said they should just go back to a new version of the cartrige, with 5 gigs of free space to save ur game and what not. if they could stream cartriges these days that would be better! basically portible hard drives. what do u think?

Just for the record, I felt that this episode was pretty unbiased even though I disagreed with certain topics like the having a ps3 with dvd9. That’s your opinion and I don’t feel that it’s bashing. Earlier episodes were biased though but I will try to forget about those.I was explaining that everyone is calling you a fanboy due to your heavy focus on bashing ps3. It wasn’t really present in this warzone though but the topic did come up.
Open world games should always be on one disc.
This latest episode of the warzone has forecast a lot of doom and gloom in Sony’s future, speaking ambiguously about the sales gap between the Xbox 360 and PS3, and even going so far as to invoke the imagery of the Dreamcast tragedy, and liken it to the PS3’s current sales situation. But want exactly is the situation. This is my opinion
Xbox 360: 25 mil / 3yrs = 8.3 per year
PS3: 17 mil / 2yrs = 8.5 per year at the highest price point this gen
Where is all the doom and gloom coming from? Are my calculations off?
The only reason Microsoft is ahead is because they had a year head start. They sold 10 million their first year and now the 360 is less than 10-mil ahead. Sony is slowly cutting into their lead. If you don’t count 360’s first year then Sony is dead even with Microsoft. That tells me that Sony is doing pretty damn good especially with a high price tag. Both systems are doing the same amount of sales per year.
Great Episode guys… Something interesting you said Torrence was that you thought PS3 would be around 8 million behind Xbox 360 which is what the difference, do you think that now, they’ll sell evenly despite PS3’s greater price or do you think there’ll be more spikes in PS3 sales which a greater number of confirmed exclusives in 2009 and Xbox 360 will sell more consistently?

HipHop is right… the PS3 was selling more in the start of the year despite the higher price in early 2008 and Europe and Japan is a huge determining factor in the sales… PS3 is doing better in Europe than Xbox 360(but Wii is kicking both their asses) and a price drop will begin to close the gap…. not outright, but it will.
