Review: Fable 2
I remember the hype around the original Fable for the Xbox. Around the time, a little game named Morrowind was the king of ‘Western’ Adventure/RPG games. From all the talk of Fable, it sounded like it would be even more open-ended and contain a whole ‘choose your destiny’ type of game, done many years ago in the Ultima series. Once I finally played Fable, I was supremely disappointed with all the limitations and ‘been there, done that’ type of gameplay. After years of waiting for the definitive Fable experience, is Fable 2 really it? Read the rest of this entry »
Review: NBA 2K9
Having been an avid 2K Sports fan since the original on Dreamcast in 1999, I consider myself pretty knowledgeable when it comes to 2K Sports games. I follow the series each year, well up until 2K5 on the NFL side of things (thanks NFL and EA – exclusive rights for sports games is just lame). While it looks like EA is starting to get better with NBA games, 2K basketball has generally improved greatly each year, though even 2K had a couple of years that felt just so-so. NBA 2K9 is the latest, but is it still the greatest? Read the rest of this entry »

Sony And Activision Are Removing User Generated Content From ‘LBP’ and ‘Guitar Hero WT’ Without Warning
In Activision Blizzard’s new “Guitar Hero World Tour,” players have used the new music-creation capabilities to riff on tunes from “The Legend of Zelda,” Pokemon” and yup, you guessed it, “Super Mario Bros.” And just as quickly, these songs were removed from GHTunes, the game’s online sharing site. In Sony’s “LittleBigPlanet,” gamers made and uploaded levels that paid tribute to “Sonic the Hedgehog,” “Grand Theft Auto,” and, yes, “Super Mario Bros.” And in many cases, those levels were removed by moderators — often without warning. Gamers in these nascent communities were furious. MSNBC

Review: Singstarpalooza!
Sony decided to send every single Singstar game they just released. We have Singstar Vol. 2 for the PS3, Singstar Legends, Singstar Pop Vol. 2 and Singstar Country for the PS2. That’s a lot of Singstar. In fact, the only difference between all 4 titles is the music. So instead of doing the same review 4 times, we thought we’d put together our own Singstarpalooza!
