Just because you love those titles both MGS4 and GTA doesn’t mean the mainstream players did. I quote “HATE” MGS4 and so do many hundreds of my friends so in that case many thousands of other player must feel the same as I do and you believe that people love those games like you do. So even though great games MGS4 is and always will be a nitche game and only the fans of the series will buy it not and new gamers. HALO3 has sold over 10 million and MGS4 is not even any where near those numbers..lmao Also GTA4 for 360 sold around 80% of the total sales numbers for Take2. 360 is the official next console after Xbox, that means it is the NEXT GEN COSOLE.
PS3 is the official next console after the PS2, means it is the NEXT GEN CONSOLE.
Wii is successor of the gamecube meaning it is the NEXT GEN CONSOLE.

First off I want to point out something about the Ryan Payton move to MS, he is woking on the NEXT HALO GAME BABY.

Now, about sales, lets see Im going to disagree with you about that.

1- just because MS cut the price of the 360 it doesn’t mean it will sell like hot cakes or the sales would sky rocket, demand is something more important than cutting the price, look at the Wii for example, did they fear the 360’s new price? NOOO because they know it will not outsell the Wii, the demand of the Wii is much higher, that goes also for the PS3, the demand of the PS3 is much higher than the 360 and I have a solid proof of that, the ps3 outsold the 360 in their playground ( NA ) at a selling price of $400 compared to the 360’s $250, did anybody care about the 360 when it was $250? I don’t think so and the sales of the PS3 proves it almost all year long, losing just the last two months is not something big for Sony and I don’t think they will lose big time, I think the sales of both console willd be neck and neck.

ofcourse cutting the price will make a big boost at sales of 360 but we should wait and see if the new price really going to push the 360 or not compared to last year’s holiday season sales of the 360.

2- On the marketing area I agree with you but lets wait and see how will they market LBP? the LBP beta key was one of the best marketing techniques ever made in the video gaming history in my opnion, I didn’t see such madness like LBP Beta madness, even Halo 3 beta was not marketed like this and this is only about Beta keys, just imagine what will they do next?

I mean putting their game in every major site and giving betas for free, that was crazy, Eurogamer crashed the other day when they announced the beta.

And EA promoted FIFA 09 as a PS3 game, Sony is doing it this year.

Just watch it and tell me if that was not crazy.

3- Games are subjective, and you are talking just like the PS3 doesn’t have games that hold on it’s own against the 360, you have MGS4 and GT5 and they are both out now, they pushed the sales of the PS3 alot.

compared to what MGS4 and GT5p did, they both boosted PS3 sales, people are delusional if they think Blu-Ray pushed the system because the attach rate of PS3 games sold says other wise.

And about MS concentrating on two games rather than releasing alot of games implying that Sony is doing this well Sony is releasing alot of different games and most of them are quality franchises so in Sony’s case quality = quantity.

MS is making an aggresive competition against Sony and Im loving how they are pushing Sony to its limits so props for MS for making a better environment this gen, however, I prefer Sony and I think they will come on top of te 360 at least this gen.

Learned my lesson with buying what’s hot “now”.

Like i said 5 to 10 years down the line im going to be playing the next system and, im not going to wait 5 to 10 years for sony to finally decide to implement all its features. if you plan on waiting that long to get the most out of your system that you most likely paid 5 to 600 dollars on then thats good for you but by then ill be moving on. just because the ps3 has a 10 year life plan doesnt mean the next system for sony won’t be out. so why would i wait 10 years just to jump to the next boat. when 360 came out i was fading away with ps2, when ps3 came out i completely stopped playing ps2 just because the ps2 is still going why would i want to sit and wait while every one else is playing better stuff. I don’t know about you but i buy a console for right now not for what it can do 10 years later.

God of War 2 has an HD setting.

The 360 released a year earlier. (Than the comp)
Yet it has PS2 & O~Xbox specs. i.e. dvd,hd,hdd.

With that said. The Wii is still considered next-gen because of motion controls. (console motion controls is old news) But why is it still considered next-gen?

This gens console war “playoffs” begin when the Nin, Sony or MS releases their next console, and they still have to support the Wii,PS3, and 360.
The gen is OVER when the last company stops production. Plain & Simple

The PS2 won the war and is still on the field. (by itself)
