On this episode we touch upon why all console debates put heavy emphasis on graphics and not gameplay. Playstation 3 fanboys are consistently guilty of this. I play devils advocate and watch Hiphopgamer and Weapon X and some of our listeners argue gameplay of Halo 3 vs Resistance: FOM. Also on this show:

When you guys started talking about IGN, and how people view it as the only site that matters. I begun to re-think about something i thought about once before, and was reminded about the othe day.

You (everybody) should do a topic about the gaming sites that “actually matter”.

For example a Finnish (Finland) site gave LBP a 10/10, and the usual N4G suspects (Mart, P.O.G etc.) said that site does’nt matter. But when a “no name” site gives a game they’re hoping to like on there perfered console a similar score, all of a sudden that sites critique matter.

On the topic of PS3 games and graphics versus gameplay.
IMO. Gameplay is never discussed because it’s not an issue for discussion. Most games and most games in their genre play pretty much the same.

It all comes down to personal preference.
Weapon X & Hip-Hop/Halo vs. Res is a perfect example.

“Better” graphics is either fact or fiction. Graphics is really not about opinion. Unless you prefer a certain “artistic style” over another.

Your bit on IGN is absolutely hilarious. I couldn’t help but laugh. I always wondered exactly why that site was popular. It’s a damn joke. PAY for the “insider info” give me a feckin’ break. That info is crap and easily available literally minutes after it’s revealed.

You make very valid points on why their opinions are immediately dismissable. Payouts, obtrusive ads, mis-information, etc, although some info is great and new for the most part it’s useless, the few bits of “news” is only given to them in exchange for ad space and positive review, which to me is bullshit.. I’ll definately be hanging around here. The shit is awesome. I’m Parapraxis here, on N4G and elsewhere. It’s so refreshing to hear intelligent views on the gaming world.

The best podcast ever would be the current crew +Geoff Keighley, It’d be great to get his voice heard. As it stands now he is basically voiceless IMO. Get out there boys, grab some celebs, fuck it, challenge them to be on your Warzone. Imagine the Sess, Keighley or Bettenhausen on that. It’d be the shit.

The shows are real, the host are real and the fights (difference of opinions) are crazy. To all the other great fans let’s support the site by visiting everyday a few times a day or even when you walk past your PC. LoL
