I’ve received a few rumors from unknown tipsters on the interwebs that Microsoft will be making an announcement at TGS regarding the availability of FFXIII in Japan for the Xbox 360.
Rumor #1: One rumor is that the Asian version of the game will work on all Asian regions, including Japan. It is also rumored that there will be no Japanese language version of the Asian game, but there will be Japanese subtitles.
Rumor #2: The second rumor that I received is that Microsoft is paying for a full Japanese port of the game to be launched in Japan with the Playstation 3 version.
Again, these are just rumors. I get bullshit tips every week. Take these with a grain of salt and hope that at least one of these comes true for the sake of 360 gamers in Japan.
It’ll be interesting if one of these even comes true. Have the game release in Japan as well with definitely help the XBox 360, even though more people will easy get the PS3 version.
It only makes sense. Your console which was a huge underdog to success in Japan even though it was released early is begining to succeed in that market. People are clearly buying xbox 360’s in Japan. Why would you not reward that base with one of the most highly anticipated games? I can see this happening, sure if you live in Japan and have a PS3 you will buy FFXIII for PS3. But if your a 360 owner and you got to buy a PS3 to play this game that sucks, and I think microsoft will be smart enough to push SE to make this happen.
These seem more like something that would/could happen. I can see MS trying really hard to have a FF XIII launch on par with the PS3’s supposed exclusive in Japan..?! I hope the game does come out on same day in Japan as well. Since this is the ultimate JRPG in Japan. Well even if it comes out afterwards the sales will help XBOX360 in JAPAN non-the-less..!
