THIS PODCAST SUCKS! DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT DOING MORE!..lol I’m joking…Good podcast as always. Goodfellajay needs to stop with all the crap he is doing and get his sh1t together. EA Games making a console?….Thatd be something big :S…specially with all the games and companies they have…it’ll be big….It’ll make it harder to choose what console to get though :S (if you can’t buy all the consoles)…still too early to tell though….and Microsoft and Sony teaming up….That’ll be hot!!! Microsoft (the software company) teaming up with Sony (the hardware company) ….We’ll see a lot of great features if they both teamed up (i think)…GTA 4 dlc seems exciting but I got pretty much bored of the game…still seems exiting though
and nice interview you got there Torrence…I didn’t get to experience all the gaming systems :’( …I started off with Nintendo 64 and now I have the PS3…wish I had all the gaming systems so I knew how it was like and maybe share my memories with each one of them with you …anyways…CANT WAIT FOR MORE!!! KEEP IT UP!!!

I thought the same thing about the ultimate console thing, except for the EA console part, but EA may force the industry to make the ultimate console.That would be awesome.
There was talk about Lipzeig from Germany moving to America so E3 might be gone after 2009.
You guys always talk about what would happen if Sega brought back this and that and how good it would sell and how awesome it would be, but now you guys are changing your mind?
TORRENCE if that’s the case than you should stop talking about wishing your favorite Sega game was remade.Now your just reversing what your saying.
Sony recently stated that they are starting to make a profit so that kotaku statement on N4G is incorrect.

Great show again guys, keep up the good work. I have to comment on the EA console though, with a console you guys where talking about just before….3D0.
Trip Hawkins, co-founder of EA put the 3D0 on the market, that console had so much EA support it is insane, it was their attempt imho. They know where the money is. A console would be such a crazy investment and risk that I just can’t imagine they do it again because the 3D0 was their one and only attempt.

@Kratos - I love updates to old games but does FFVII have replay value like racing games and action games? I think once you play through a 60hr RPG, you won’t go back and play it again. That’s just me though.

Well the difference between now and when the 3do was out is EA owns a whole lot more then it did then, It also is almost about to have the sports market on lock if they acquire take 2 which would leave only sony making the other sports games. They have a lot of top developers and IP’s under there belt now so i don’t think it would have the same results as the 3do. Also Gaming was not as big and lucrative then as it is now.
I think that a FFVII remake would be a great idea. Other than the updated graphics and maybe new combat system, the game would be able to expand more. You could expand the story from Crisis Core to FFVII (PSX) to Advent Children (just an idea), people would really like that and there still a chance to either expand further beyond and maybe even get the last adventure for Cloud. But anyways i bet there’s tons of people who have heard about this game and never played it and would never buy it because it goes for really high. This would be a sort of introduction to a whole new audience,
I never played through any of the final fantasy games because im not a fan of turnbase gameplay. If they redid 7 and did away with the turnbase and made it an action rpg i would be persuaded to buy it.

HOLY SHIT i don’t know what i’d do… i’ll tell ya i’m not a fanboy but i do only own a PS3 at the moment, and i’d hate to see microsoft take things over where i like how it is on the ps3, but instead of assigning microsoft’s software and son’ys hardware it was more like an accumulation of the two then that would be INCREDIBLE, but no army of two, bioshock, burnout, tiger woods, rage , i dunno man I’d pretty much need to get both, sorry nintendo… i’d get the PS360 first tho cause although ea as a great many pretty good games, there no where near the first party of both sony and microsoft… gears, halo,god of war,killzone, infamous, fable,resistance,socom,ff13, will make me sleep easy not being able to play madden beta1666.5 and the same alike lol

Another great show guys. Personally I would love to see a remake of FFVII for the PS3 and yes it would have crazy replay value, here’s why.
Voice Acting:
FFVII has arguably one of the best stories in video game history. Combining that great story with great voice acting would be a good reason to play a the remake.
More Cinematic Cut-scene:
If you’ve ever played FFVII then you already know its packed with dramatic moments. Now image those moments enhanced by more facial expression, motion capturing and cinematic lighting and camera angles. The cut-scenes would look like Advent Children.
Fresh New Over-world Map Navigation:
Come on, they got to have a new more graphically intense over-world map. They could make it really typographical with elevation and weather patterns
New Combat Interface:
Giving the FFVII remake the combat system from FFXIII would be reason enough for anybody to play it.
More in depth menu interface for leveling and customizing skills, items, armor and weapons.
Maybe some new skills, items, armor and weapons as well as some returning favorites.
Maybe some new side-quests.
Dude just writing this is getting me hyped for a FFVII remake. That game would be crazy. Even though I beat the first FFVII and I already know the story I would totally buy the remake.

I see what your saying and i know your not a fan of final fantasy but in case you haven’t noticed, square enix has been doing final fantasy remakes on the ds and psp like crazy and those sell like crazy and their just on handheld systems.If you go to n4g or any other gaming website and look up final fantasy 7 remake rumor and look at the comments, 05 percent of the people commenting on there want a remake and are almost begging square for one and all they ask for is improved graphics.Same goes for if you want a streets of rage remake.It deosn’t matter what kind of game it is.A game is a game.

I hear ya man, there are a lot of differences from the 90’s. But no math will ever show EA that they can sell more games on one console. They have a lock atm, like you say, and are able to sell their games very well on the 3 major home consoles. They were not the same back then as they are now, but they where the biggest 3rd party publisher giving all out support to this new console.
All I’m saying is that the 3DO was their attempt imho, and I doubt that they will try again simply because of the risk and the money. A console would cost millions upon millions in R&D and when all is said and done, they lose a huge chunk of the market they have access to just to sell their games on 1 console.
In the end this is all speculation, not even rumor and I just don’t think it will happen.
I just finished listening to podcast, you all have a point but about M and S team up against EA, it wont happen (atleast i hope not) I love fifa, madden, nba games but am not buying another console just to play them so yea.
Now i cant find anyway i can contact TheBitBag so am going to post my question to them over here.
