why don’t your shows go widescreen anymore?
even on youtube they were widescreen and before e3 on the bitbag they were widescreen.now you can’t even enlarge the picture anymore.
i dont see gears out selling resistance but i do see resistance being a better game than gears…
the wii already had violent games like resident evil and manhunt why are people so afraid of this game? are age ratings on video games just there for effect there not for kids!
Tekken 6 looks awesome.looks better than soul caliber 4.i don’t think need for speed or godfather are going to be any different than the previous ones.i don’t think tomb raider will be better than uncharted but i guess i will have to wait and see.
i think resistance 2 has a slight chance of beating gears 2 because of how good they did in2006 with no install base and still did 3 million.now with the install base much larger they might be able to outsell gears 2.remember i said MIGHT not WILL.360 has a bigger install base so they might sell more.i don’t know, it’s hard to tell, but multiplatform titles don’t sell that much more on 360 even with the bigger install base so my money goes on resistance 2 but it doesn’t matter which one sells more because both game look awesome but im looking forward to resistance 2’s storyline and online multiplayer more than i am looking forward to gears 2.
Nice show man. Man see i cant really tell you whats a better game on that one dude cause they are like two different types of games. See when i saw streets or rage i just new you was going to throw double dragon or something like that out there. Then i would’ve had to said streets of rage. But those two game you showed is hard cause i loved shooting shit in contra but streets of rage was real fun beating up on people. If i have to chose im going to say streets of rage because the music in that game was the shit back then. i would just play the intro over and over again just to hear the music when i was a kid.
nintendo has not alienated hardcore gamers at all. and releasing games like madworld and the conduit is a good thing, and would not ruin their image at all. people think that the wii is not hardcore just because it is inclusive. thats what the video game industry needs right now. the only people alienating anybody are those fucktards at microsoft and sony. nintendo is the only company that is getting up off of their asses and doing something. if they didnt, we could very well be looking at another videogame crash. microsoft and sony only cater to one audience(young adults), and eventually that audience is going to abandon videogames all together for things that are more important in their lives. this audience that theyre catering to will get smaller and smaller. of course, there will always be new young adults to cater to, but its not going to matter. who is it that introduced the magic of videogames to the current audience of the 360/ps3? FUCKING NINTENDO. we should thank nintendo for bringing in a new audience, especially kids. thats what this industry needs, somebody to focus on a new generation so videogames dont just fucking die. and in doing this they arent alienating anybody, theyre just expanding. we need to take a real intropersonal view at ourselves and just admit that we are playing with fucking toys here. videogames are toys, and a lot of people dont like the wii because its not hardcore enough or its got gay ass kirby and gay ass mario on it. people who share this view arent hardcore gamers, in fact, they are the type of people who would lead the downfall of the industry. i work at gamestop and i have to deal with people like that all the time, it makes me sick.
nintendo has quality games. microsoft and sony dont. games are getting generic and boring. i will probably pick up killzone 2 and resistance and gears and all that jazz, but come the fuck on, lets be a little more creative here. bioshock is a perfect example. bioshock is a masterpiece, and a company actually got off their asses, and explored a little, and was creative. unfortunately theres not that many games like that on microsoft/sony’s side.
Judging from both of the games, Resistance 2 will be the better game in my opinion. Gears has its perks but to me it got boring fast. Graphically gears beats resistance, and to me that’s about the only place it wins. Furthermore, you can’t even really compare the two, they’re different types of games. Another thing i think is ridiculous is the amount of publicity sony gives their exclusives. Games like Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, Resistance and even Metal Gear Solid 4 could sell so much more if sony would Advertise them better. Microsoft is top notch in terms of advertising. I still can’t believe Halo 3 sold 8 million. Personally, I can’t believe Gears sold 5 million, but i’m sure there are people out there who can’t believe resistance sold 3 million. It’s all a matter of opinion. At this current time i only see myself getting Resistance 2, but I might still get gears 2 who knows. It looks like they added a lot of stuff to spice the gameplay up. Although, my main issue was the story last time. If there’s a good story this time i’m in. As for Nintendo, I totally feel like they let me down this gen. Vroom Vroom It feels like a real jet ski!
In regards to Nintendo i didn’t accurately state my opinion. This generation i had such high hopes for Nintendo, and I was incredibly excited about the possibilities of the wii. Don’t get me wrong there are several good games on the system. Personally, I own Zelda: Twilight princess, Mario galaxies, Metroid Prime 3, Smash Bros, Mario Kart and Zack and wiki. I just feel like Nintendo can do better, and by better i mean more original IP’s. So far we’ve seen the same stuff put out by Nintendo that they always make. I agree that it’s good Nintendo is bringing in new gamers, I just feel like they’re shifting more support to the casual gamers now. Really I shouldn’t say Nintendo disappointed me this gen, yet I feel that right now they’re starting to. We’ll see I’m not going to judge them anymore, but I do want to see more hardcore games like the conduit and Madworld. They also need to improve their online and make it more fun.
great show as ususal. R2 vs Gears2 will be alot closer battle then the first go around. by the end of 2008 sales should be only 250k difference.
I would choose streets of rage when comparing thoes 2 games but if you put the first contra then it would have taken it In my opinion. I had very good memories with the first contra awell as streets of rage.
i think that if nintendo keeps puttiing out games like madworld it will hurt them in the long run because parents won’t look at nintendo as something they wan’t their kids to play anymore, but it is nice to see they are actually putting out a hardcore game to stand out.i still think it won’t sell that well though because the wii is not filled with that kind of audience.just look at what happened to manhunt 2.AT LEAST THEY FINALLY HAVE A NEW IP THOUGH.
The situation between Resistance 2 and Gears 2 is pretty interesting. Resistance 1 wasnt the type of game where people went “Dude, I gotta get a PS3 for that game.” It was awesome game but it didnt have the massive impact like Gears 1.
The thing now is that Resistance 2 is pulling all the stops. Insomniac not only polished the game like crazy but added insane amounts on new stuff. 60 player multi ALONE is enough to create excitement but then they push it up with the Cloverfield Chimera and the separate co-op..
All around the forums, I’m hearing people people say that “Dude, I gotta get a PS3 for THIS game”. I dont think Resistance 2 will outsell Gears 2 but I do think Resistance 2 will move a lot more Ps3 than Gears 2 will move 360.
Basically what I’m saying, everybody who wanted to play Gears already got a 360. Is gonna sell a lot but only moderately gonna boost the 360 sales.

I believe as long as the gamers themselves get the system they want ,and are happy with that system Than that’s all that matters…The console war is retarded, gamers only lose out when major companies (corporations )go at it for dominance…

@Kratos hear is how your theory wont work. Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony arent going to just give up the money they make now for a one console future. Then who is going to make that one console? Then that console maker has a monopoly and gets all the profit from that one console. Yea its a nice idea from a developers standpoint cause it means they have to do less work but its not going to happen not as long as the industry is making billions of dollars the way it is. Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo will never agree on sharing profits from one console so them making it together would be out of the question too. If those companies got along like that then you would see 360 with a blueray player. We don’t need a one console future we need a dipshit fanboy free future, in order to be like it was.

ya i know we need a fanboy free future but that won’t ever happen.but here is how the 1 console might work.it takes billions of dollars to make a console and they won’t lose as much money to sell the console with no competition and Sony makes the system, Microsoft makes the online and Nintendo does the add-ons and watever else they want to do and the profit splits 3 ways but i know they won’t want to share it so heres another alternative.universal studios gathers up all the developers for Sega, Bungi, epic etc… and pay them to have all their games exclusive to that platform and then all sony, microsoft and nintendo have is their exclusives and they will be forced to combine with universal.it might take a lot of money though.anyway if it works then each company can start developing their own games and still make a profit.it may or may not work, but just think about if u could only get the dark night on blu ray and could only get iron man on hd dvd.it would be the same as the console war.it may not happen now but i believe it will happen sometime in the near future with consoles how expensive they are now and how each generation the price keeps getting higher.do u really want to pay 1000.00 for a console?that’s when i think there will be 1 system.the cost will be too high.
like i said it wont ever happen its too much money to be made in the industry for that the happen. like i said before this would only benefit the developers and not the console makers. No way in hell will microsoft and nintendo stand by and let sony make the console while they only reap the benefits of online and add ons, then on top of that we as consumers wouldnt be saving money because they would just nickel and dime us to death on everything. I see consoles in the future with out disk drives and add huge hard drives and every thing is digitally distributed. This is the future that i see happening esp with movies, muso, and games and programs being distributed on line as of lately and the new envirorment friendly movement going on this is the more likely reality. Plus they have already tried the one console thing twice a and more. Consoles wont hit that 1000, mark for a long while if it ever does get like that. Sony made the mistake of bringing a console at a high price point and now they are reaping the consequences of that.

it doesn’t really matter what will happens but you have your future of gaming and i have mine, but if the 1 console future isn’t for quite a while then get used to fanboys because this is only the start.if things don’t change i will hate to see the console wars in the next 10 years.
I dont think the Wii was made for hardcore gamers. I mean they have Wiis in nursing homes. Nintendo markets the Wii to non-gamers as well as gamers.
