After some good food and drink, we are finally sitting down with ears and eyes on Jack Tretton. He’s giving the usual PR blab but GOW was already hinted. Now to the blogging.

i was bored throughout microsoft’s e3 video and how their trying to make tons of claims over ps3 and saying they will win the console war.i don’t think so not with exclusives like god of war 3, motorstorm 2, resistance 2, final fantasy versus, infamous, killzone 2, the agency and tons of others not to mention home but that’s just my opinion you can think 360 will win if you want it doesn’t matter to me.
Wow, Sony’s E3 was better than I thought. I think they were actually humble this year, even though they mentioned how MAG couldnt be done on any other format, but obviously its true. 256 players online! Created by Zipper, the makers of the original Socom. Simply Amazing! Im very proud of Sony, and even though FF13 went multiplat, I still think that Sony could beat Microsoft in the end.
All microsoft really showed in their conferance was Squeenix’s Rpg’s and Fable2, and the new Live interface. Most of the stuff they were bragging about was multiplatform games, which I think is silly. Gears looked a little bit more fun than part 1, but it still looks like the same game, but patched up a bit. I’m not saying its a bad game, but I could name like 20 other games coming out this year I would rather play.
Another thing that I wanted to mention is that I think it really sucks that Squeenix put most of its rpg’s exclusivly on the 360. My problem with that is the 360 is known to over heat if you play your games for extended periods of time. I usually put in 100+ hours in just one rpg if not more. And Im totally worried about getting the rrod. If I had a choice I would definately rather play my rpgs on my ps3. But I guess I have no choice huh?
And one last thing. WTF is up with Fallout 3? I cant believe how bad it looked and how over hyped they made it. Everyone was talking about how they liked the new VATS system, but seriously , I think its retarded. And wtf is up with people getting shot in the head with a sniper rifle and yet all of their limbs blow off their body? I think Besethda should have stuck with their Fantasy RPG kinda deal, cause seriously, pausing the game on the fly and targeting people with the VATS system is a noob strategy, and to me, takes out every element what a shooter is,, all about skill. I think everyone should take a closer look at this title and try not to look past the fact that even if you shoot teddy bears out of a rocket launcher, your more than likely not gonna lose your arm, especially if you got shot in the chest,, its so cheesy, I wouldnt even rent this game.
I feel the opposite other than mag it looks like the same games and things they had at last years e3 and every other game convention they go to. They talk about little big planet for the last two years, resistance 2, kill zone2 , and a teaser of gow3. But with the exception of a few things what was said that we didnt know about prior to e3? I feel there psp showing was better i seen games i didnt know about like resistance, and stardust for psp. They didnt wow me with any thing and didnt really have any big announcements that we didnt already know. Microsofts game line up may not be as good as sony for 08 but nobody new that they where going to overhaul the dashboard and we knew about the avatars but we didnt know they were going to be implemented like they are, then on top of the party system and other features. ms did there job and brought us things we didnt know about and thats why we watch e3 to see things we don’t already know about. I just don’t feel that sony did that. I will say this though i wasnt a fan of little big planet but now i will be getting it.
But sony didnt realy surprise me with any thing, we all new they were coming with a vid service, we know killzone, resistance, and little big planet was going to be shown. we predicted they would show gow3 but i think we all hoped for more than what we got. The ps3 so called price drop is nothing but a 40 gig with a 80 gig hdd which in turn means nothing if you already got a ps3. So in my opinion sony dropped the ball on this years e3 press conference. Doesnt mean we don’t have any thing to look forward to but its just what we already knew was coming.
I was some what disappointed with the Sony Press Conference. There wasn’t any Killzone 2. But now there is a Killzone 2 multi-player video on the PSN, and that look fucking better than Call of Duty 4 single player.
Resistance 2 look fucking insane.
I love the Warhawk room in Home. That really got me interested in Home again.

I think that the biggest thing that microsoft had to throw in Sony’s face was a game thats multiplat. But whatever you say guy.

I gotta say I feel your pain too. All of us were expecting alot from Sony this year. Nothing probally hurt me more than to see FFXIII goto 360 but you have to look at it this way. It’s all a business at the end of the day. Games are getting too expensive to make and they have to recoup the cost some how. Think about it like this. MS depends highly on 3rd party games. Sony depends on 1st and 3rd party games. If it all went down today and MS crumbled guess who would be on top?…..Sony. They have more game studios than anybody on the planet. If anything I learned during this E3 its that it doesn’t pay to be a fanboy of either system period. There are great games coming out all over the place and the day of games being exclusive to one console are the other is over unless its being made in house. I think that Sony did a GREAT JOB. They didn’t let the anouncement phase them about FFXIII going multi platform. They just shrugged it off and kept going. I do agree with you that we all know what was going to be shown at Sony E3 press conference. I would just like to tell you to keep your head up and that goes for everybody fanboy are not. Just remember the year is not over yet. There is still a long way to go. We still have E for all and the Tokyo Game Show. You know it could have been worse. Just look at what Nintendo showed this year. NOTHING……..

Personally I felt like Sony Conference was the best out of the three. MS spend a good portion of their press conference talking about sales figures and what not. They also showed a lot of Multi-platform games such as Resident Evil 5, Fallout 3, Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero, and others. They only showed Exclusive such as Gears of War, Fable 2, and Banjo. Oh and a shit load of Xbox live arcade games. Oh and Final Fantasy XIII was a bomb shell drop on the public. I didn’t see that one coming.
I didn’t get a chance to watch the Nintendo Press Conference because I wasn’t home. But from what I am hearing, it was crap, and Nintendo didn’t really support their Hard Core gamers. Fuck you Nintendo
Sony on they other hand showed almost all exclusive such as Resistance 2, infamous, Little Big Planet, and others. Oh and lets not forget about MAG and fricken GOD OF WAR 3. I felt that sony did a very cool thing with the Little Big Planet level, and I didn’t expect that. The video store was cool and all. Sony should have show Killzone 2, but it would have stole the spot light on Resistance 2. Oh aGB PS3 might have a price cut to $350 because the $400 dollar unit will be the new 80GB model.
The Tokyo Game Show is where Sony is going to drop some fricken major bombs on the public. We are going to see the Team ICO projects, and more of their Japanese First Party games. Oh and White Knight Story.
E3 is some what dead because of all these other gaming events throughout the year.
But after all three press Conference. I have to say Sony interest me more. I am getting Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, and Socom this year. All of those are Sony First party games.
From MS I am getting Gears 2, and Fable 2. They didn’t show much to impress me this Holiday season.
Yeah, im surprised they didnt show much of Socom, considering its coming out in a couple of months,,, They also should have mentioned wipeout hd, and being able to play the new bionic commando on the psp.
After watching todays e3, ive come to the conclusion that I have to get a psp. I just wish that it had a second analog stick and it would be the perfect hand held gaming system. Resistance looked pretty good on the little thing, and so did Madden. Im pretty impressed with the graphics on the newer games on it.

What’s up man. I agree with you that Sony did have the best showing. They did show alot of games that I am very interested in and that I will be buying this holiday season for sure. I have all 3 consoles so I’m not really worried about it. All I was trying to tell the other guy was to keep his head up. If you like PS3 support them because it’s people like him that keep the system alive. I’m not saying by no means will Sony die. They are far from it as shown yesterday. Yes, the Nintendo show was stright grab. I like the Wii and all but lets be real, they are content with this casual gamer thing. I think they drunk with the fact that they are making a crap load of money which I think is straight up wrong. I really think they need to consider the harc core gamer and gamers in general. It makes no sense keep making the same old party games. Where was that game that they were talking about that was going to get everybody running to the Wii? Did you see because I sure didn’t. As for MS though all I can say is good move with the FFXIII bomb. No one saw that coming. But I can tell you this. I think that that game is going to come with a price for MS. #1. Square Enix said that there main focus is to finish the game on the PS3 FIRST. So the PS3 is still priorty #1. #2 By the time FFXIII even makes it to the states Sony will have made the majority of the money anyway. #3. As of right now its only coming out in 2 North America and Europe for the PS3 and the 360 and PC. #4. Square also said that they have to take into concideration that the PS3 have blu-ray so thats going to play a big factor going from PS3 to 360. But if you ask me I think that the ps3 one will better because it is the lead system for the project.
All I can say is that this game needs to be a wake up call to Sony. They really need to start locking up everything they got like the games will be on a life sentence. For real. If it were me I would lock up the whole franchies of any title that I thought was good from the very begining. But Sony will be alright. I think that MS is still the one that needs to worry. Even though they were able to drop a bomb that still may not be enough to sell units.
Im not a fanboy i just get tired of every one bagging on microsoft and trying to make sony out to be this perfect console with no problems. I own all three so i can make a fare assessment of all three. It doesnt matter to me what comes out on what system im going to be happy. But to my point E3 is supposed to be where you show off new things you are doing, and give gameplay of things you have coming in the near future. For that sony in my opinion dropped the ball. Im tired of seeing trailer after trailer of the same three games when in just a few months we got little big planet, socom, resistance and a couple other about to get released and they only show off a small piece of resistance 2. I liked the little big planet demo (made me like the game now) but come on they have too many titles getting released in a few months and they hardly showed any gameplay of any of them. Mag is nice but seriously if killzone took this long to make, that game is not no where near completion so why get hyped about that. If you dont play 360 then maybe i dont expect you to be pleased with what microsoft brought to the table but from where they are now to what they are going to do is outstanding and well worth owning a 360 in my opinion. Sony cant even get developers to support in game xmb featrues let alone there own studios, and have had issues with this update so how can i get excited about home when they cant even handle that. Well i guess we know why it keeps getting delayed. I love sony have owned all three systems but they got to stop relying on just there brand name and deliver on things. The reason i think ms had the better showing they not only showed what direction they are taking next but actually brought games to the show and showed them off. You may not be a fan of 360 but for those that own a 360 being able to see live gameplay from the games ms has coming in the next couple months is great exclusive or not. I dont want to sit and watch a bunch of trailers of games that are supposed to be near completion thats what we have the blogging sites, youtube, and gametrailers for. Look at last years e3 and then this year and tell me what really was different this year. thats why sony failed e3 in my opinion. I don’t mean they failed as a system but delivering surprises and new things for e3 was very disappointing. But nintendo was worse but we already knew what they were going to do so it wasnt that big a deal. I was just expecting a whole lot more from sony.

I have read many coments and I have to say that you have a valid point. I’m not a fanboy either as I own all 3 consoles but if you had to ask me which one I’m feeling more right now I’m going to have to go with 360 a little more than MS even though I still think Sony came out on top. The reason I say this is because MS is being more addgressive when it comes to games but I also think they try to hard and they take alot of your money but now seeing what they did at E3 make me want to pay the $50 for XBL. They finally answered that question for me. Sony showed that you don’t have to drop a major bomb to move more units. They have been doing good all year. I think they need to be more adgressive and start to get a stronger relationship with all of there developers. 1st and 3rd parties alike. Like you I wished they would have shown more games or rather actually ingame play of the game trailers that were being shown. I think that the video store was the highlight for me. I love the fact that they give you the option to rent and buy movies and put them on mulitiple devicies at the sametime. MS, they only give you one option which just lets you rent the movie. There are games I’m looking forward to on both the PS3 and 360 this year. I may even pick up some titles for the Wii. However, I would not go so far as to say Sony failed E3. I think that everyone was so taking away by FFXIII going to 360 that nothing else mattered. I will just leave you with this quote ” A system can not be defined by one game. Its the games that are on the system that makes it great.”

Let me break it down for you guys. I give both Sony and Microsoft props on their conferences. Everyone knows that Sony is the king of 1st party exclusives and Microsoft is the king of delivery. Don’t believe me? Let me remind you of a few things.
Sony showed LBP (AGAIN), Motorstorm 2, a TINY bit of KZ2, didn’t even talk about it, SOCOM, and a slew of other 3rd party titles. Resistance 2 was the best thing they showed at their conference and the $14.99 R&C was a nice treat. Don’t forget that Sony also showed a BUNCH of 3rd party games like Madden, GH, SCIV etc…
Microsoft showed a bunch of 3rd party games too, but of course we got to see Gears 2 which LOOKS BETTER than the first Gears. The lighting, destructible environments and effects that they’ve added to the game are fucking sweet. Did you hear about Horde mode? Yeah, 5 people online against 100’s of horde. They also dropped Avatars which blows Mii’s away and also stole thunder from home with the party features. Oh and that game show!?!? 1vs100. You can win real fucking prizes. How many people in America watch gameshows only hoping to be on one for real? These are surprises and these are the things that make E3 special. They also dropped the OPTIONAL hard drive install feature. This right here negates the reason to ever need Blu-Ray for 360. For example, they could release MGS4 on 8 discs and after the install you can play without ever swapping. Or like on the PS3, you can play off the disk with incremental installs or disc swaps between acts. It’s optional! I can install FFXIII and if it’s too big, delete it and still continue playing off my save file. That’s innovation, it’s a surprise and that’s what E3 is about.
Both conferences were great! I’d give Microsoft the nod for the best conference based on everything new they announced EXCLUDING the FFXIII announcement. So even without FFXIII they had a better showing. Sony’s show was good, but the PSP and PS2 talk took steam away from anything they had to announce for PS3. They have 139 PS2 games coming out within the next year. I don’t give two shits about PSP games, but Resistance LOOKS SWEET.
They didn’t show Wipeout, FFXIII, FFVS, NO DETAILED KZ2 footage or demos, Infamous was VERY underwhelming, MAG is very sweet on paper but they didn’t show gameplay, just CG. Mag was probably the biggest surprise Sony had. Next would be the video store available tonight. The video store is cool but Microsoft has had it’s video store for years. So Sony is catching up. It’s not innovative though. Netflix was a cool surprise and I’m going to be testing both movie services out. I want to buy a movie on PS3 and play it on my 360 and iPhone. That’s my test. LOL
Anyways, Sony not showing Wipeout pissed me off. I want that game more than anything else now. How can they not show that 1st party title? The Motorstorm 2 footage went by very quick. Socom was also very quick footage. Nothing detailed. I had expectations from Sony and they didn’t deliver BUT it was still a very good show. With a few more surprises I probably would have given it a tie. Oh and GOW3 was not a surprise. Plus there was no gameplay footage.
Let me say one last thing. READ THIS AND REMEMBER. For anyone who thinks a game like KZ2 can’t be done on 360, slap yourself and check out Project Origin. It’s the game of the show for me and is ON PAR with KZ2. ON FUCKING PAR!
As far as FFXIII being better on PS3 because it’s the lead platform, remember this, leading on the PS3 makes the games equal to 360, not better. Leading on 360 makes 360 games better. Working both at the same time makes each game equal. Don’t believe me? Check Burnout and COD4.
Oh one more thing, FFXIII will be release in Japan first so a portion of the 2 million install base can buy it, then it hits USA and EUROPE for both 360 and PS3 day and date. PS3 won’t sell that many in Japan before it hits the gaming capitals of the world.

So you guys dont mind paying $50 bucks a year for live, plus additional money for everything else offered online? Well unlike you guys, I dont like paying for anything other than games for my system,, and this E3 Microsoft proved that they are caring less and less about games. They are trying get more of the casual market with the new applications you can get on live.
Like I said before, most of the good games you guys see on the 360 are multiplat. How in the heck do you guys think they had a better E3? The only reason why I havent sold my 360 is because of Squeenix’s rpg’s. Other than that, I dont see why I should by any other games on the 360 simply because, for one, games look and sound way better on my ps3. And two, why should I pay money for live when ps3 is free? Who really gives a shit if I could play game shows on the 360? Jesus,, I have a next gen system, i would rather be playing next gen games thank you.
The reason why I think Sony won this E3 is simply because they had more exclusives, and a wider range of games for us hardcore gamers. I could give two shits about anything else that mircosoft has that isnt even game related. If you guys think the reason why mircosoft won this E3 cause of FF13, then you obviously dont realize how bad rpg’s have done in sales on your precious 360. The regular NES had better sales on their platform with just a couple of games than the 360’s rpg library conbined. Im not saying that FF is gonna sell bad on the 360, but if GTA4 couldnt move systems, then what makes you think that final fantasy is going to do any better?

I think its funny how Microsoft had this big E3 with games that are on the ps3 too. And I think thats what separates the two. It seems to me that the ps3 is gonna let their games do the talking for them. They must have learned from their mistakes because they used to run their mouth alot, So its really humble of them. As to where Microsoft always seems to have to try to prove themselves. And try to brag brag and brag really about mulitplat games, and for what? Think about that.. OMG! IM dumb?,, and this is coming from a guy who says Killzone 2 could be done on the 360. Okay Tor,, Mr. know it all. I seen some footage of Project Origin. And if you think that is comparable to killzone,,, you obviously need to slap yourself. Or get some glasses or something. The annimation in killzone alone would probably overclock the 360 to get the rrod before you could even beat the game. But whatever you say guy. Your the expert.

I know what you mean when you said that Sony didn’t show games such as Socom, Whipout, and Killzone 2. But you have to remember than their is another Gaming Conference next month (I don’t know how to spell it, but it start with a L, and I think it in Germany). One thing I notice at this year E3 for Sony, almost all of their games, excluding Little Big Planet, was made by an American Company. With that other Gaming Conference in Europe, I am sure that Sony will be showing more of their European Gaming company games there. Games such as Wipeout, Wardevil, and Heavy Rain.
Then there is the Tokyo Game Show in September, and Sony will be showing more of their Japanese Developers games there. Games such as the Team ICO projects, Final Fantasy, and White Knight.
I think if that is the case, then Sony is doing a good job of spreading their games in all three of those Conference. But I was disappointed that their was any announcement from Naught Doy.
You stated, and I quote, “Infamous was VERY underwhelming”. That I would have to disagree with. Personally it made me more hype for that game and I can’t wait to spend hours playing that game next year.
The God of War 3 teaser trailer was all many of us God of War 3 fans really wanted. We just want to know that it real, and they are working on it. God of War has always been show like that first. Then slowly the will start showing gameplay for it.
Sony didn’t show Killzone 2, but their was a lot of Killzone 2 info coming from E3 yesterday. Like the only badges, and a video of the online multi-player which look better than COD4 single player. Plus the developers stated that there will be new info on Killzone 2 everyday of E3.
I have to agree with you on MS showing a lot of gameplay. Lips, MS singing game, I felt was better than Sony Sony Singing Star. Why? Because of that fact that you can just plug you Ipod and you can sing the songs from your Ipod. Which is fricken cool. But I hate those fucking type of games.
I like how MS claim that their movie game was innovative and new. when that same type of gameplay is on the PLAYSTATION 2 EyeToy. They only think the added was the video capture.
I felt their showing of Fable 2 was lame, but I am fricken hype to play that game. It one of my favorite western RPG series of all time. in fact, it is my favorite. They should have focus more on this game rather than Rock Band 2, and Guitar Hero. After all, both rock band and guitar hero are coming out on the PS3 and the Wii. They should have show more on Fable 2 because the game is coming out exclusive on the Xbox 360.
Where was that Big Halo announcement many was expecting at MS press Conference. That was a no-show. I wonder what went wrong.
Gears of War 2 looking fucking insane as usually, but I am leaning on the renting side for this game now. Base on what they showed, and Cliff B interviews, Gears of War is looking less and less “WOW” to me. I hope the show something that will blow my mind away, and make me want to own this game rather than rent it.

Games such as 1vs100 is cool and all, but I feel like it is too casual and will be skipping it. I was surprise MS didn’t show Too Human, because that game is coming out next month. I download and played the demo, and end up deleting it. I personally didn’t like it,.
MS spend half of the Sony talking about Resident Evil, Rock Band 2, Fallout 3, and Guitar Hero. Why are they wasting their time talking about these multi-platforms games when they could have spend more time talking about their exclusive games? That is why I felt like MS didn’t had Strong E3 like Sony. Then again, all three press conference wasn’t very impressive, so that isn’t saying much. But I will have to give the nod to Sony because they mostly talk about their exclusive games. But I felt like they have talk more about the psp and PS3 rather than the PS3, and the history of the PS.

Hold up!! Hold up!!! Hold up!!!!. Shredder please chill out man. You have to give Torrence respect man. He has been in the game for a minute man. Just talk to him 1 on 1 and you will find out. I write for the bitbag at times even though I have no braking news as of late but Torrence and Hiphop gave me a chance to do something great. We all talk on the regular man. Even if they would not have giving me the opportunity I would still respect them. Right now I could only wish that I was on the trip with them to E3 but I have to prove myself first and thats what I aim to do. I have learned so much from these 2 that its crazy man. I have not been able to watch E3. I have only been able to read about it because im in a top secret location right now. Judging from what I read I would have to say that Torrence is right man. Just look or read all the reviews on the big 3. You will see. I love my PS3. I love my 360 and my Wii. We all have to accept the fact that alot of things we wanted to happen did not fall through on ethier side of the fence. Thats a part of life. Deal with it. This site seems to have attracted a lot of Sony fanboys, which is fine since I own a PS3 and want to get a lot of scoop or here about it more. I favour the PS3 more (I had all three consoles keep in mind) and I have to admit that Microsoft had a more better conference as in presentation. However in content of games to get release this year, Sony won by far. On a side note and looking at it from a neutral perpective if I didn’t own any of the 3 consoles, I would have gone out and bought a 360 .
