1. First off great show!!! I enjoyed it! Hiphopgamer and Torrence, ya’ll make up THE best team for a podcast! Well Im going to try and answer the MGS4 question that yall asked. Personally I don’t think they should change anything, the game is perfect the way it is(not 10 perfect, but high 9 perfect). But if I was to change anything to make it better I would probably say: I would make most of the action cutscenes playable. For example, remember the first cutscene of Vamp vs Raiden? I would make that scene playable so you could play as Raiden and kick Vamp’s ass, lol. Now another thing I would change would be, instead of watching Snake smoke a cigarette during the installs(even though its already off the chain!), I would make it so you can play a small portion of the NES Metal Gear games in-between or do a small ZOE(Zone of the Enders) fight. Now the last thing, you know how the octocamo can change into anything you lay or lean against? Well, I would make it to where you can change your entire appearance as a PMC soldier or anybody else from the game, since the face camo can manipulate into anyones face from the game. With that said, I’m going 2 go and play some more MGS4 and kick ass with Snake. Once again great podcast and Im definitely looking forward to the next one, since this IS the HOTTEST gaming podcast on the net right now! Peace!

2. Hey, nice show guys really enjoyed it. I got my copy of metal gear on the 12th, and i think it’s a masterpiece. As for gears or resistance, i’m 150% more hyped for resistance 2. Gears the graphics and gameplay blew me away, but the story was very weak imo, i never finished the game, it didn’t hook me. I finished resistance and i wanted more. The graphics weren’t as good as gears but the story elements and gameplay were awesome. You guys mentioned epic is promising to release story details that will create an engaging story in gears 2. Well i’m not impressed, it should have been there in the beginning i think. If gears of war 2 turns out to be epic i’ll get it, but as of right now i’m not sure i’ll pick it up. As for your challenge to say something i would change about metal gear solid 4, i am only like 25% through , and i love every minute of it. If i think of anything i’ll come back and post. Good show, keep it up i’ll tune in for the next one!

3. Trust me dude, play Gears to the end. Gears is like an epic B movie. If they add some story elements then it will be an epic A movie.

4. I love the podcast Brothers. Kojima has raise the level again and the developers need to step their game up and I also agree with both of you. Japan developers put their heart and soul plus quieilty too.

5. On What would make Metal Gear Solid 4 Better?
Seeing as how MGS4 is Kojima’s swan song, and easily my favorite game of this generation (or possibly any generation), It would very audacious and rude of me to suggest that Kojima didn’t do the very best he could. And having pondered this question for quite a while, there really isn’t anything I would add or change to this game. But since the question was posed, and swag is on the line, I stewed about for an answer that would fit with Kojima’s style. After completion of the game, I would add a Nanomachine viewer to your inventory. With this device, you would be able to tag enemies with it, and see the world through their eyes and hear their thoughts. The viewer could also be used automaticlly during every cut scene, to view the situation from every character’s perspective, and actually see what each character is thinking in his head the entire time. Ever wonder what Raiden, Naomi, or even Liquid was thinking during a certain scene? Wonder no longer…
This would also give you added incentive to replay the game again and again without skiping the cutscenes.

On hardcore gamers owning all consoles?
In the past generation of games I would absolutely agree. Real gamers (hardcore gamers) should own both consoles (providing they can afford both). SNES and Genesis, N64 and Playstation, etc.
However, I do not agree with this in the current generation, and for two reasons. The first major hurdle with a 360 purchase is it’s reliability. I cannot in good conscious roll the dice, and pay $300+ of my hard earned money to have to worry a system breaking, or scratching my expensive game discs. You could argue that sure they have a replacement warranty, but that doesn’t make the idea any more tolerable for me. Money is essentially a tool to vote with, and by knowingly purchasing defective products, I am casting a vote that it is acceptable to sell defective electronics. I simply cannot do that. The second hurdle is the one that is less discussed, but very valid. The majority of must have titles that would appear exclusively on 360, almost always have a PC release. Mass Effect, Bioshock, Halo 2, Gears of War, I have all played on PC. This “questionable exclusivity” also carries down to further releases such as Fable 2, Alan Wake, Left 4 Dead, etc. PS3 even gets some trickle down effect with Ninja Gaiden Sigma, and Bioshock of its own. With a PS3 and PC, I easily have all my bases covered without the need for a 360, and I don’t see this changing at any point in the future. In the past, consoles generally had their own unique line ups. But with multi platform becoming the norm this gen, the few exclusives a console has are extra important to its success. How does microsoft hope to sell me on a 360 when I can get everything they have on my PC or PS3? =/

6. lol i love this podcast, i loved the part with the ghostbuster developers intereview. torrence i think you should do this in every podcast you make for anytype of game.

keep up the great work!

7. Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Marathon games - all before Halo 1 and excellent FPS games with stories, so i’m not sure if Half Life is the only other FPS to compare to Halo (IMO).

How would i change MGS4?

- I havent finished it yet, but the thing which breaks the immersion is the loading times and installs. This is especially noticeable [spoilers] when you escape with Drebin in the APC, and the action breaks up between each area
.
- The controls also need an overhaul, maneuvering in enclosed areas is still a bit problematic with the turning /camera interactions. And noticeable in boss fights where they have superior movement to you, and it’s difficult to do the actions you’d like to do, but the fluidity lets you down.
- in-game help could be better, it needs better context, for example what are the little icons for the weapon stats mean? A context help should be right there.
- fast forwards and rewind on the cutscenes. As such a vital facet of the story it’s disappointing you cant jump back to a missed line, or forward past a bit you’ve seen (without skipping it all). I’m requesting this after Teh Mrs shouting at me during a vital cutscene, so i’ll only know whats gone on on my next play thru…
- invisible walls. Yeah it’s not an open world game, but why cant my super-soldier climb a head-high wall? Just make Snake a little more able to climb things (as elite soldiers can), and adjust the areas you dont want him to go with bigger walls. Just make it more logically consistent.
- remapable controls would be good, say so you can change your gun’s firerate or torch on/off with just a button press.

Really these are all fairly minor or tech issues, as there isnt much to complain about, and hence to fix. Well unless you’re going to request features that only IBM’s new Roadrunner could do… Where’s my VR and omni-directional treadmill?

9. to make mgs4 a better game ? plain and simple: make it a longer game! DUH : P……but there is so much stuff you can to to it to make it a better game. i think it the game is hot enough gameplay wise to where you dont really need to add anything to it like that. the game isnt short, but i think i can speak for alot of people when i say “no 1 wants this game to end, we want to keep going and going and GOING!”…..lol but thats the truth….isnt it? like deep down you really dont want this game to end cause its so unbelievably good….

i hope im not to late for the contest… : P

10. Ok ok, more to comment about MGS4.

I spent this afternoon expecting to play a game and instead watched a movie. Very lame, If this game is as short as people are saying i’m going to be very disappointed.

11. Hey Candid, why dont your play the game first before you make you whiney little girl rants about it. Seriously, do you even own a ps3? You sound like a xbox fanboy in sheep’s clothing. Troll on Candid, troll on.

12. Oh yeah, my bad Tor and Hiphopgamer, The show was da bomb! Its alot more entertaining then any other show on the web. You guys make listening to podcast cool again. All the other shows are really getting lame and very biased for the 360.

13. Torrence yo that Ghostbuster Skit was Fucking Hillarious that was classic I was Laughing like Hip hop gamer that shit was funny!

14. im getting sick of how every pod cast you guys say you cant be a hardcore gamer unless you have all the consoles.i actualy had a 360 but it broke 4 times and in my opinion the only must have games for it are gears of war and halo im not sure about fable, i didnt play it but from what i saw i would rather play final fantasy. i thought halo 3 was the same as the other ones eccept for improved graphics and to me gear of war had no story line all you do is kill aliens plus ive seen most 360 exclusives on pc, but until 2009 it seems it will have more exclusive games.i love the fact that ps3 has backwards compatability and 1% failure rate and you cant get resistance, heavenly sword, motorstorm the usual ps3 exclusives on pc.

15. metal gear solid 4 is the best game i have ever played but i dont agree with all the fanboys, it sold a lot so far but that doesnt mean the 360 is dead it will just make the 2 systems more level for sales. ive had both consoles but for the failure rate i dont see a point in buying it.mine broke 4 times.it seems to me that sony has more exclusive titles coming for 2009.im not a fanboy ive had both consoles but it seems to me that sony has a brighter future than microsoft.i also think that the 360 came out a year earlier because they have less developers and i think that if they both came out at the same time sony would have far more exclusives.

16. “i actualy had a 360 but it broke 4 times and in my opinion the only must have games for it are gears of war and halo im not sure about fable”

That statement right there makes ME think that you are not a hardcore gamer. Only 2 titles that shine to you on the 360?

How about Ace Combat 6, Crackdown, Chromehounds, Project Sylpheed, Tenchu Z, Lost Odyssey and PGR4!?!? All top rated EXCLUSIVES for the 360. You can’t be hardcore and not list those games. I’m sorry. And also, if you were truly hardcore, you’d keep getting that 360 fixed until it stayed fixed. I would. I would also do the same for my PS3. Ever played Silouette Mirage, Lunar, Herzog Zwei, Assault Suits Leynos, Dragon Force, Cybernator or Sword Of Berserk? Yeah, I’m hardcore, not as hard as some, but very hardcore indeed. Can you say the same?

No disrespect intended.

17. I haven’t finished MGS4 yet, but I just started Act 3 and I’m totally blown away. I wouldn’t change anything about the game, but I would ADD something, and I would add multiple endings in MGS4. For instance to get the true ending for the MGS4 you would have to beat the game on Big Boss Hard.

18. torrence i played at least half of those games and saw trailers for some of the other games. crackdown didnt look very good to me,unrealistic, shell shades and packed with halo 3, but some people may like it, as for tenchu poeople told me it was good but im not into ninja games.i thought pgr3 a pretty good racing game but not MUST HAVE.just recently found out about lost odyssey. is ace combat 6 a ww2 flight game because i cant remember the name of it but i played something like it and i thought it sucked.
