It’s Official, Bioshock For PS3 A Reality
One week after my Rumorsmash and the news is official. This whole ordeal brings up a point I’ve been trying to make about dealing with PR people. What is up with the ‘no comment on rumors’ crap!? Why can’t they just give us a yes or a no? How is it that a print magazine already has screenshots and official release info, but a Take Two rep was in full denial last week? What’s the point of giving one outlet information before others? What is Take Two getting out of the deal with the print magazine? Like those exclusive reviews 1up received of GTAIV, this makes no sense to me. At least I can rest easy knowing I was right about one thing; it’s release is for the holidays, not September. At least that’s what the internet is saying. PS3 owners are in for a real treat! Glad to see more gamers getting a chance to play this game. Here’s my response from Take Two after emailing them today when I heard the news: Read the rest of this entry »

Huge news in an interview over at Next-Gen. A few things:

BioShock for PS3 – The Rumor Finally True?
We’re not the first with this news, but it’s big enough to run regardless. Several sources are now trumpeting that 2007’s well-received Xbox 360 title BioShock will now be coming to PS3, approximately in time for Holiday 2008. Here’s the GamePro.com writeup.
This actually makes me super happy, because – as stated in the review – BioShock is a worthy enough experience that all possible consumers ought to have a chance at it. The PS3 version will probably benefit from the typical overhaul performed on second-string releases as well, so figure a graphical touch-up at the very least and (in the best of worlds) some new content as well. Either way, this is a fine outcome for a product whose quality deserves exposure to the widest possible audience.

City of Heroes/Villains New Expansion Goes Live!
It’s all the entertainment you get from comic books, but without the ink rubbing onto your fingers.
The City of Heroes/City of Villains games just got their latest free expansion. ‘Issue 12: Midnight Hour’ promises new power choices to each attack type, new Zone Maps and extra costume parts. But the best part, by far, is the new unlockable archtype for Villains. For the longest time Heroes have had the ability to play as a special character type (after leveling a character up to level 50) while the Villains have been left in the cold. However, now Villains will have the chance to join up as a member of the mighty Arachnos Army! You can play as a Wolf Spider or Blood Widow. Each side branches out into 2 different types and each offers their own unique abilities.
I’m downloading this update as soon as I get home! Make sure you do the same.

Review: MLB 08: The Show
It’s baseball season time again and Sony has released another baseball game for their PS3 and PSP systems. I haven’t played a decent baseball game since the Triple Play PS2 days. The MLB 2K series never really caught my fancy. So when I was given a chance to review this PSP version of MLB: The Show, I took it. Read the rest of this entry »
Rumorsmash: No Bioshock Sloppy Seconds For PS3
I just figured I’d look into the rumor that Bioshock is coming out for the PS3 this Summer. I thought this rumor was preposterous as it was stated before by Ken Levine that Bioshock would be a 360 exclusive. I contacted my peeps at 2K and here’s what they had to say:
Newsbits: WSJ on PS3, Sony States No Price Drops in 2008
It still sometimes amazes me that our little hobby has grown big enough to get page space in the Wall Street Journal, but it happens all the time. Here’s yesterday’s WSJ writeup on Sony’s current progress with the PS3; a promising outlook overall. The point is made that PS3 outsold 360 by a 50,000+ unit margin last quarter overall, with the biggest win in January (269k PS3s sold compared to 230k 360s and 274k Wiis). Sony’s success in the Japanese and European markets, while not new news, is also mentioned. Read the rest of this entry »

Well even though KZ2 got pushed back to 2009, at least we know it’s coming out in February. Sony has their entire year all planned out and now it’s here for you to see. I’d also like to note that this is the biggest press release I’ve ever seen. Read the rest of this entry »
