Impressions: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue
Well the GT5 Prologue preview codes were sent out tonight. I was excited to see them in my mailbox and eager to finally play this game. Now let me tell you, I am a Gran Turismo hater. I love racing games and was highly disappointed with GT1. The car selection was off the chart, the racing options were great and the gameplay sucked bawls. I don’t know about you, but something about hitting a wall at 120mph and continuing the race without a hiccup put me off. That wasn’t the real killer for me though. The real killer was the gameplay in general. I bought an Aston Martin DB7 and spun a donut right off the line effortlessly. I wasn’t even trying to do that but a little gas and a slight nudge on the controller and I was off spinning. This happened several times turning corners too. I’m sorry but you can’t call it a simulation if it’s doing shit that doesn’t even happen in arcade racers. I almost broke the disc. I gave GT2 a try but was still upset that the driving mechanics were so flawed. Again, the great graphics and car selection wasn’t enough for me. I quit the series, played on Sega GT for awhile and didn’t even bother with Forza. Big mistake I made! I picked up Forza 2 and have been in love ever since. After getting my PS3, I played a little GTHD and liked it better than any GT game I had played in the past. There was hope at last. Read the rest of this entry »
Sierra to Give Presents this Easter for Boogie Bunnies Fans
Not to be anal, but it’s not really hidden if you announce it, is it? I won’t complain, though. More free fun from Sierra. Yay! Watch the trailer and then check out the dates after the break.

Go Legendary in April
No, I’m not talking about the Legendary edition with the helmet. I’m talking about the second map pack for Halo 3 that will be coming out on the third Tuesday of April. Information has already been released about Ghost Town and Avalanche (a tribute to a Halo: CE map), but very few details have been given about the third and final map. Plenty of time within the next 26 days for them to give us the scoop, but according to my calculations, they may pull a joke on us on April 1, seeing as how they release information on Tuesdays and there are four Tuesdays left till the release date and April 1 is the halfway point. Avalanche actually includes new skins for all of the vehicles. Check out the screenshots and vehicle images after the break. Read the rest of this entry »
Guitar Hero on DS Will Release with New Guitar Grip Peripheral
I haven’t been this excited for a rhythm game since they first announced Rock Band. I have actually been wondering for months how they were going to the DS version, because I was really afraid they were going to make it like Jam Sessions. The DS version will feature two new Battle Items which will implement features unique to the platform: blowing out pyrotechnics and autographing t-shirts (or cleavage?). There will be six players, including two new ones. Since it’s probably going to be aimed towards a new demographic group, I hope they put in Hannah Montana songs. Screenshots after the break.
Rock Band Sells 6 Mill and Opens In-Game Music Store
At the four-month mark, Rock Band has sold six million songs. Amazing. It was also announced that a new update will premiere a Music Store accessible from within the game. It will allow players to “view, purchase, and sort all downloadable songs tracks by Artist, Song Title, Genre, Albums, Pack” and “view album art, listen to song previews, as well as check out detailed information about a song, such as difficulty for each instrument.” The update will also include some other game features that have been requested by the community. Press release and latest Master Track List available after the break. Read the rest of this entry »
PS3 Getting Update For Blu-Ray 2.0 Spec
The beautiful thing about having a PS3 is that you get all the current BD shit over the wire. It’s too bad they didn’t enforce this with all BD players. And people wonder why HD-DVD was technically better than Blu-Ray. Here’s the full release from Sony: Read the rest of this entry »
Dreamfall Game Of The Year Edition Hitting Xbox Originals On Monday
I always wondered what this game was about. It has the most elusive box cover art I’ve ever seen. I mean, can you honestly tell what this game is about just by looking at the boxart? Here’s the full release info: Read the rest of this entry »
Review: Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz And Buzz! Jr.: Robo Jam
In the wake of the domination of the Wii, companies like Microsoft and Sony have been forced to start making party games to get some of that casual gaming demographic. We’ve seen the 360 version of Scene It and now Sony brings us not one, but two Buzz! games. First is Buzz! The Hollywood Quiz game. It’s directly competing with Scene It but it takes the genre to different heights. Second is Buzz! Jr.: Robo Jam, which gives the youngsters a chance to join in the Buzz! fun without the difficulty of knowing a bunch of useless Hollywood trivia. Has Sony cracked the casual party game market with Buzz!? Read on to find out. Read the rest of this entry »
Cast Announced For Live Action Street Fighter Movie
Oh goodness…why oh why are we going back to this?!?! The first live action Street Fighter movie completely sucked bawls. The only redeeming factor was the actor who played Zangief. He was well represented in the film…at least looks wise. Read the rest of this entry »

Subscription Based Blade3D Pricing Means 360 Development For The Masses
Those wizards over at Digini will soon be offering subscription based development tools for the Blade3D game creation engine. Imagine this, you need a script that handles collision detection but don’t know how to write one. You log into Blade3D, find a script already available and then use it in your game. All this comes at the cost of a World Of Warcraft monthly subscription. Here’s the full release: Read the rest of this entry »

Super Smash Bros. Brawl Is The Fastest Selling Game In Nintendo History
I never thought I’d see this day but SSBB has broken every Nintendo sales record in the history of Nintendo. They managed to sell 1.4 million copies since launch. On the launch day they sold 874,000. I guess the Wii is here to stay. Here’s the full release from Nintendo: Read the rest of this entry »
Review: Hokuto No Ken / Fist of the North Star (Sega the Best)

I’ve been a long time fan of the Fist of the North Star series, both old and new OVA, and there was very little love given to the series here in the US. What I mean is that we received roughly 30 out of 152 episodes, a cartoon movie and (regrettably) a live action movie as well. In Japan, they were cranking out toys, games, lunch boxes, blankets, everything. Since the progression of gaming technology, there were better Fist of the North Star fighting games. Well, I wish that were true in this case… Read the rest of this entry »
Doom And Assault Heroes 2 On Xbox Live Arcade This Wednesday
XBLA Wednesday is back in full force with the launch of Assault Heroes 2 and Doom on XBLA. If Doom doesn’t have updated HD graphics, I really don’t see the point. I mean, do we really need to go back to medieval times of FPS games at this point? Here’s the full release from Microsoft: Read the rest of this entry »
