Fanboyism is just an extension of ideological incompatibility which has gone on thru the years, for example Christianity vs Islam in the Crusades, now it’s migrated to which corporation and/or their products you (blindly) support.

My mantra regarding consoles and so on is “Games NOT hardware!”, it’s the way to live….

If you are nota a fanboy than why do you lett those comments make you mad. A person that is not a fanboy would not write something like this. You are an XBox 360 fanboy. You have all consoles but you are a fanboy. I feel sorry for you dude:-(

If I made a mistake in this article it would have been using the Playstation 3 fanboys as the main focus of the numbers game. I understand that 360 fanboys did the same thing, and at a time when Sony had just released the console. I did this because it was fresh in my mind, I had just listened to some fresh podcasts where hiphopgamer was throwing numbers around about how the PS3 is outselling the Xbox.

If you read the article and try to fully understand my position I am trying to explain that we need to enjoy our games and enjoy the world that each system has to offer us.

I think everyone is a fanboy in some sort of way. Whether it’s the games or the hardware, there is some game and or console out there that you love and desire more then the others. If you have a PS3, Wii, 360 and PC, one of these you probably play more often then the other. So you have some sort of favoritism toward it. There’s no doubt I enjoy my 360 more then the Wii and PS3 right now, but I also like my DS more then my PSP. Of course different people have different definitions for a Fanboy. I think it’s just someone for favors one thing more then anything else in the same genre. Not sure if you need to despise the other products for you to be a fanboy. We hear many fanboys bashing the other game consoles or other games because they don’t like them or they believe it’ll justify their favor item to be better. Just because one fanboy likes the PS3 and hates the XBox 360, doesn’t mean the XBox 360 is a failure or not liked. Sales only matter to M$, Sony & Nintendo. Gamers having a fit over which console will sell more may make for an interesting forum thread, but it’s pretty dumb. The PS2 outsold the XBox and Gamecube last year. Did that many any gamer not enjoy their games on the XBox or Gamecube? No!! The hardware sales war really has nothing to do with gamers unless the system is going to FAIL and get pulled off retail shelves. Neither the Wii, 360 or PS3 are going to fail. They’ve already succeeded. So don’t worry about the hardware sales. Worry about when the next great game will get released.
