Geoff Keighley Sets Cooper Lawrence And Fox News Straight

by Torrence Davis

Geoff Keighley appeared on Fox news to discuss the issue of sex in Mass Effect. The news reporter claimed that Mass Effect had full digital nudity and graphic sex. Her other guest was Cooper Lawrence, a psychology specialist. Cooper claimed that adolescent males play video games, not their dads. She also claimed that boys see women as objects and it’s a man in the game who decides how many women he wants to be with. Geoff called Cooper out when he asked her if she ever played the game and she replied with an uncomfortable no.

What we have here is the media making claims about something they don’t know about. Cooper is supposed to be an educated psychologist but she never played the game at all. In other words, she didn’t do her homework. This is nothing but the media spreading lies and misinformation to the public. Thank god Geoff was there to set them straight. What sucks even worse is one of the male news reporters commenting on the game afterwards claimed it was Luke Skywalker meets Debbie Does Dallas. He also stated that he wouldn’t purchase this game for his child. HELLO DUMBASS! It has an M rating for a reason.

I’ve contacted Geoff to get a statement from him about the discussion. For now, watch the clip and infuriate yourself.

Stumble it!

  1. Unfortunately, this is just ill-informed media pointing fingers irrationally at the first scapegoat they see. Infuriating to say the least. At least they balanced the playing field a little with Geoff’s presence.

  2. This is getting frustrating. People making statements based on a few glimpses of the game. Whats next? The NASA proclaming theres life on Neptune just because it looks kinda blue in one picture?
What really worries me is the fact that is getting easier to create scapegoats than real solutions to these problems. People who are supposed to be “professionals” start making statements without real facts or actual proof to support their opinion. I dont know how things work these days, but last time I checked it we used to call it TO LIE.
