Third Generation PSP Rumored
Hot on the heels of the latest PSP firmware update, there is speculation that the next PSP is in the works. With the popularity of the latest versions and rumors of a PSP Phone, it would not be suprising to hear the announcement of this new version within the first quarter of 2008.
From QJ.net:
While everyone may have their own opinion about whether or not Sony IS cooking up another version of the Sony PlayStation Portable (i.e. the oft-rumored PSP Phone), it seems that one of the most prominent figures in the handheld’s homebrew scene has found a clue that might prove that future model’s existence. That figure is none other than Mathieulh himself, and that clue is the string “kd/pspbtcnf_03g.bin”. Read the rest of this entry »

Final Devil May Cry 4 Trailer Releases as the Year Comes to a Close
Check out the latest Devil May Cry 4 trailer (HD). It features all of the major characters and many of the boss battles that will be taking place during the course of the game (spoiler alert). For those of you that have been sitting on the fence, this may be the video that will bring you to the Dark Side. It is not clear whether this is the final trailer or just the final trailer this year. The game is scheduled to release in early February.
GameTrailers also has an Xbox 360 VS. PlayStation 3 gameplay comparison in standard and HD formats. First impressions: the 360 graphics look cleaner, but the PS3 graphics seem to have better environment effects.
In related news, there is a report that Sony is going to release two special edition PS3s in Japan. Consumers can choose from either black or white. There is no confirmation whether it will be releasing in the US.
How I Got Into Game Journalism, Part 2
So thebitbag.com was finally born. I threw it into the sea of hundreds of other gaming sites. Wordpress was my savior and gave me the content management system I wish I had years ago. I could easily add content via an admin panel and it would save it to a database. No more html uploads. Read the rest of this entry »

Duke Nukem Teaser Trailer Released Today
After ten years, the fourth installment in the Duke Nukem series may become a reality (fingers crossed). The trailer looks awesome. New quote at the end will soon become a classic as well. They should just get Bruce Campbell to do the voice-overs for this one. The game is still based on the Unreal engine, albeit a highly modified one.

Chow Yun Fat in Dragonball Z Movie
Calling all Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi fans . . . Chow Yun Fat will be playing the old grandpa from the manga/anime series. I don’t know if Japan has ever had a live-action version, but I know that Korea has had some horrible live-action attempts. Funny thing about this cast is that it is a melting pot of ethnicities. Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End Hits Xbox Live In HD

Wow! Wednesday is Xbox Live Marketplace day. I always, like many other 360 owners, check out the movie section to see if anything cool was uploaded. To my surprise, Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End is now available for rental on Xbox Live Marketplace in HD. I’m starting to believe that Microsoft is trying to take out Blockbuster and Netflix. I don’t however, think that they are trying to sabotage the HD disc market. Blu-Ray and HD-DVD are doing that themselves.

Naruto: Rise Of A Ninja Gets New Character – Free!
Yesterday, Ubisoft released Shikamaru Nara as a free download through their “Exclusive Content” service for Naruto: Rise of a Ninja. Strangely, the game’s official site doesn’t reflect the new character, but he’s most definitely there. Signing up for a Ubisoft account is free and can be done through the in-game menus. If you own this neat little adventure/fighting game, there’s really no reason not to grab the new character, especially since he’s one of the coolest in the animé and manga source material. The intro animation to his Jutsu is also well-done, and the finish animation is hilarious. Read the rest of this entry »
