Square defecting to Playstation with Final Fantasy 7 was the nail in the coffin of Nintendo and SEGA. That's testament to the power of third party software. Hell, third party software put Xbox on the map. If Microsoft didn't buy PC/Mac developer Bungie; there would be no Xbox to speak of today. Third parties are fairly relevant overall. Instead of spewing the same asinine "buy it all" consumer drone rhetoric, you should be championing the cause of standardization. One device.
