Review: Sega Rally Revo Xbox 360

I’ve always been a huge fan of the Sega Rally series. In fact, I’ve been hooked on all of Sega’s arcade racers since Outrun. Rally however, is my favorite of all the Sega racers. When I first saw the high resolution screen shots of Sega Rally Revo, I was in complete awe. I couldn’t believe that they could achieve such detail in the actual game. The Sega Rally team has delivered once again and they have taken arcade rally racing up a notch. Read the rest of this entry »

Review: Battlestar Galactica (XBLA)

Sierra’s Battlestar Galactica is a game with a clear vision: to be a simple, fun arcade-style shooter you can play alone or with friends. While it draws storyline, visual and musical assets from the popular revisualized television series, BSG on XBLA doesn’t need the backstory to be a solid game. It realizes its vision well. New World Of Warcraft Rap By MC Koob – gquit

Well MC Koob promised us a new track and he has delivered! His new song, ‘gquit’, talks about the issues of running a large guild and all the drama that comes with it. It’s hilarious and I’m sure anyone who plays WoW or has ever run a huge guild will enjoy this new song.

Who’s Actually Fighting In This Console War?

Console wars date as far back as 1989 when the Sega Genesis dropped.  Remember the blast processing ads featuring Sonic?  Sega and Nintendo went at it pretty hard, trumping each other every step of the way.  Sega pretty much held it’s own until Street Fighter II was released on the Super NES.  While it didn’t kill Sega’s success, it did put Nintendo on top as THE system to have.  The forums were nasty.  rec.games.video was a haven for flame wars.  It went from Sega vs. Nintendo to Sega vs. Nintendo vs. Sony and so on and so forth.  The only ones affected by the so called system wars were the gamers.  There were never any losers or winners as far as the game companies were concerned.  They didn’t give a shit about us gamers as long as we were spending our money on their games.  These wars continue to this day and so do the idiotic flamewars in game forums all over the net.  Read the rest of this entry »

Jason Booth Hits Home On PS3 Development

“So, the common theme is this; developers must spend significantly more time and resources getting the PS3 to do what the 360 can already do easily and with a lot less code. “

Jason posted on his blog about the realities of why it’s difficult to develop games on the PS3.  It’s pretty informative and not for the faint of heart PS3 fanboy.  He did point out that developers who are willing to take the time to get quality games made for the PS3 will be successful, but it takes a lot of time and money to do so.  Click the link for the full story:

Can Your Computer Run Crysis?

Crytek released a software tool to check and see if your computer was equipped to run Crysis.  As the demo will be released tomorrow, this is a necessity.  I chuckled out loud when I saw the results of my test.  I fail on minimum requirements because of my CPU and Graphics card.  The recommended requirements are a 8800 Nvidia card with 640mb of RAM!  Click here for the test:  Can You Run Crysis?
