A simple game with simple controls equals tons of fun! Here is another title worth the import. With just two characters to choose from, 2 player split screen option and 140 mission in total, you might not want to pass this one up. Read the rest of this entry »
Virtua Fighter 5 online announced for XBox 360
In a remarkable development, Sega has announced what was previously considered unthinkable. Virtua Fighter 5 for the XBox 360 will have online multiplayer functionality, as well as a spate of new and improved features over the PS3 version.
This is surprising news given the earlier stated position by Sega that VF5 was too deep, and too timing-oriented a fighting game to field in a potentially lag-marred online environment. While purists may still harbor complaints of that nature, I personally can’t see this as anything but very, very good news for 360 owners and for Sega’s series itself. Hopefully PS3 owners will get a downloadable content pack to match the new 360 features, or at least a Special Edition at reduced cost (see also: VF4e).
Survival Horror Comes To Consoles Once Again
Collective Studios is now working on a new survival horror game called Harker. Sony to cleave $100 from PS3 price tag?
I Can’t Believe It’s Not E3 is scheduled for next week; and the big rumor in the Sony trenches is that an official price drop may be in the works to goose PS3 sales.
Gamedaily.biz reports on the rumor here.
Hopefully this is true. That would make the PS3 $100 closer to more acceptable price point. It may be a good time for some to jump on the band wagon as the Blu-Ray Disc Association has an offer running for Blu-Ray movie player purchases in which you can get five free Blu-Ray movies (Yeah, it’s not games; but we’ll take what we can get – and you can use them as trade-in fodder for games) with the purchase of select Blu-Ray players, which includes the Playstation 3.

Sick of It, v.001: Console Generation of Chaos
What the hell happened in the console market between 1999 and 2007? Didn’t console manufacturers settle on $299.99 in the United States as the comfortable entry point for new game hardware?

Microsoft Xbox 360 Press Conference Predictions
Ok so I’m going to E3 afterall. My contact at Microsoft has blessed me with an invite and I can’t wait! I have some predictions for you. Take them with a grain of salt.
- Microsoft will discontinue the core system and bundle the 20gb hard drive, Xbox Live headset and controller with remaining core units.
- Premium Xbox will be dropped to $349 and the Elite to $399.
- More PS3 exclusives will be announced for 360.
- HD-DVD will be dropped to$99.00
That’s all I can think of for now. It will be an interesting show for sure!
Reason Behind Forza 2 Lock Ups
Last week I played my 360 for about 8 hours straight. My final hours were spent playing Forza 2 in preparation for my upcoming review of the game. I got to a point where my 360 just locked up. I reset it, loaded Forza 2, started to play and it locked up again. Rinse and repeat. The reason behind the lockups wasn’t Forza 2 but the fact that my system was overheating. I turned it off for an hour to let it cool down and I was playing again with no lockups.
When the 360 gets to it’s heat threshold, certain games that require more cpu and graphics power may lock up. This is just a theory though so don’t quote me on it. Forza 2 runs at 60fps. It requires a lot of GPU/CPU power to run at that speed. Could this be the reason behind the lock ups? Either way, there’s no problems with the Forza 2 code and it’s not bricking any systems.
Who Needs To Go To E3? Microsoft Gives It To Us Over Xbox Live!

I’ve done many E3’s. Believe it or not, after many years it becomes work. I like the new model and even though I’m not attending this year, having access to all this content on Xbox Live gives me a chance to sit back and enjoy all the goodies in the comfort of the office.
