Bioshock Developer Walkthrough

This is just pure genius! I didn’t think anything of it until I saw all the unique things you can do. The AI is also VERY tight. Notice the little girl walking straight to the dead body to examine it. Also check her reactions to you as you approach her. Graphics are on par with the usual 360 fair and the sound design is fucking incredible! Enjoy!

  1. I’m definitely getting interested in BioShock. In fact it’s one of the very few games where I can see some faint justification for the first-person viewpoint (I’m of the opinion that said viewpoint actually hurts the player’s experience in most cases). AI behavior definitely looks interesting in this clip - in fact I was a little ticked that we didn’t get to see the vampire-child’s final reaction as the player walked up to her trembling form. I’m betting on a plasmid metamorphosis, since she clearly steals plasmids from the dead. The game’s creepy factor is off the chart. My one hope is that ALL the vamp-kids and Big Daddies don’t share the same set of voice samples, appearance traits, and animations. Similar between examples is acceptable, certainly, but the visual and emotive impact of that duo would be heavily diminished if they’re cookie-cuttered throughout the game.
